I KNOW IM LATE BUT EVERYBODY WISH DAZAI OSAMU A HAPPY BIRTHDAY, I WANNA SEE A PARTY IN THE COMMENT SECTION!!!!!
"I am afraid because I can so clearly foresee my own life rotting away of itself, like a leaf that rots without falling, while I pursue my round of existence from day to day."
———————————————————————It didn't appear as though the bartender was really enthusiastic about their suggestion. He had stopped polishing the glass in his hand and was now giving them a steady look of disbelief as if they were not speaking Japanese
"You two are aware, right, that you're not the only customers in here, are you?" He questioned with a calm demeanor while raising an eyebrow at the two men who were standing on the opposite side of the counter.
"Really? We never see anybody else here." In response, one of the men reacted by elevating his glasses even higher on the bridge of his nose before turning to face his companion. "What about you, Odasaku? Have you ever seen anybody else in this bar besides ourselves, our barkeep, and our dear companion?"
Oda hummed as if he were thinking hard about that question, racking memories that only came up blank in response.
"Not a soul, Ango."
The bartender let out a frustrated groan as he placed the glass he held back in its cabinet, turning away from them as he busied himself with anything besides this conversation.
"No," he affirmed simply, pulling down a bottle of whiskey. "And that's my final answer." Beside Oda, Ango clicked his tongue as he placed his briefcase down on the counter, entering in the code that kept it locked tight and flipped it open. From within, he produced a large stack of cash.
"Perhaps you'll be willing to change your mind," The bartender turned to look at him, his eyes widening when they fell upon the money in his hand. He didn't have to involve himself in any sketchy mafia happenings to know that it easily broke into the tens of thousands of yen. He took it without further hesitation, drawing a satisfied smirk from Ango.
"Very well. What is it you two wanted to do, again?"
. . . .
(Y/N) was never, in the normal course of events, going to be late to their meetings at the bar. She had a knack for always being able to make it on time if not early, regardless of what responsibilities may have been nipping at her heels.
However, she was running behind schedule tonight, which was something that Oda commented aloud on as he cast a worried glance at the clock that was located behind the bartender, who had abandoned his grumpy demeanor and was now cheerfully humming along to the music that was playing while he prepared a drink for Ango.
