"It is painful for the plant which is myself to live in the atmosphere and light of this world. Somewhere an element is lacking which would permit me to continue."
———————————————————————It was frigid . (Y/N) could feel the heaviness of the moisture in the air weighing down on her and seeping through her clothes. And the fact that it was pouring outside didn't make it any better for her.
The girl shivered lightly and tugged on her black trench coat, hoping to gain some warmth. Her head lazily tilted upwards to stare at the murky sky. Little droplets of water come from them. She felt a big, fat raindrop hit her cheek, and flow down her delicate face to her neck. It was followed by one more raindrop, and then yet another. The drops of rain hung on her lashes, and then ran down her cheeks, kissing her lips.
Lightning spiked through the darkened sky, and was followed by a clap of thunder. The clouds looked menacing in their glory, threatening to empty themselves at the slightest invitation. The girl closed her eyes and tried to absorb the sweet smells of mogra mixed with the earthy, wafting storm scent.
(Y/N) inhaled deeply and heard a loud crash of thunder.
Swishing sounds of the wind swept past her, whispering secrets to the vicinage. The rhythmic melody of the falling water as it hit the concrete road was soporific. As the rain increased in its intensity, the sizzling symphony of billions of drops felt like the rain was cackling with joy as it greeted its old friend, the earth.
(Y/N)'s footsteps caused the puddles below to splatter onto her pants. Creating an uncomfortable, cold sensation that touched her skin. She didn't care.
Her bandaged hands weakly gripped onto a bouquet of white flowers. A few roses hidden in the mix as well. She absentmindedly walked to her designed destination as her gaze was still focused on the tar-like clouds. The droplets of water still hitting her face and soaking her hair.
(Y/N) was snapped back to reality once she noticed a familiar headstone poking out the ground. She stared at it with a blank look. (Y/N)'s gaze shifted to her closed lids and her eyes darkened, as if covered by a veil.
Slowly, she placed down the bouquet of flowers right by the headstone. She placed down the flowers so gently as if she was afraid it might dissolve into dust.
(Y/N) puts her hands in her pockets and played with an old matchbox as she continued to stare at the stone. Those engraved words staring back at her made her feel sick. So sick. She wanted to scream, cry, yell, swear, anything. But she couldn't.
She had the impression that all her emotions were abandoning her, leaving behind an asphyxiating calm and an empty body she didn't want to live in anymore.
