"White on him the moonlight glowed; in the strange bright mist, his dim figure was slowly moving; only his eyes all along looked gentle."

A tired eye stared at the people passing by as she sat on the wooden bench by the Yokohama river. The very same pair of eyes that struck fear into the hearts by anyone who's heard her name.

(L/N) (Y/N).

A young girl whose name was known far further and more widely than she was. The demon prodigy, as well as and the youngest executive in mafia history. She very existence was painted in mystery and dipped in cold cruel blood.

Mafia black.

That was the name of the blood constantly circulating throughout her body. Contaminated and tainted to such an extent that it would be difficult to ever scrub it clean, and so dingy that not even the light could make it brighter.

Ever since her youth, (L/N) (Y/N) was a demon. A so-called monster among men and women. Just being in someone's presence can be enough to inspire anxiety and uneasiness in others. It wasn't because of her physical attributes or her looks that people were afraid of her. It was something more fundamental, like a prey animal in front of its hunter.

Life or death.

People were simple beings. Way too simple.

Humanity itself was a cliche species. Way too predictable, making it impossible for her to feel any enthusiasm. They might be able to surpass her expectations in certain ways, but they could never surpass her imagination. Simply by looking at them, she could always tell what was going on, even if they tried to hide something from her.

One single look and she could see through everything. It didn't matter how elaborate the scheme was, because the truth could never escape her. The same went for the world. Her mind was capable of deciphering even the most cryptic of truths. Nothing could stop her, and she was growing increasingly bored as a result.

Living in a world where the results of every event were already predetermined was almost as bad as being tortured. Almost, being the keyword. Because torture ends one way or another. The emptiness inside her would never cease until the very day she died.

'You should know yourself. No matter whether you're on the side of killing people or saving people, there will never be anything that can surpass your mind. No place in this world that can fill your loneliness. You will linger in the darkness forever.' These words were said by the only human that had ever come close to decipher a minuscule portion of her.

Sakunosuke Oda.

She heaved a sigh as she leaned back in her seat and hung her head over the back of the bench. The sky was pure blue above her, and white clouds that looked like cotton glided slowly over it, creating an almost ideal view for her. In spite of the beauty around her, (Y/N) chose to close her eyes. She had seen everything that she wanted to see and didn't want to see anything else.
