The layer covering atmosphere had an aura of brightness as the light flickered through it and reached the surface of Earth, making it a bit scorching. The birds were soaring high with so much zeal and zest that could bring courage to even a derelict for the search of betterment in life.
Chuuya tilted his head upwards to analyze the sky above. A sense of tranquility flowed in his blood cells once the sun brushed against his pale skin. He relaxed under the touch of warmth and smiled.
"Oi, hurry up! You walk like an old lady."
His smile was instantly wiped off his face and replaced by a heated scowl. He averted his sapphire eyes away from the sky and looked up ahead. "I would hurry up if you tell me where we're going, asshole."
(Y/N) hopped onto the fence railings. "Do you mind not talking to me? I'm too busy breathing right now."
"I'll rip your fucking throat out, bandaged freak. Just tell me where we're going." Chuuya snarled, reeling his leg back to deliver a harsh kick to the girl's neck. But just as he expected, she dodged with ease.
"I thought you knew? We're going to investigate and interview people who were closest to the explosions." She queried.
Chuuya stood dumbfounded. "What explosions?"
(Y/N) rolled her eyes, semi-annoyed. "About a week ago, there was an explosion similar to the one we experienced. It happened nearby. The previous boss wasn't sighted there, but the cause is most likely the same as what we're investigating." She side eyed him. "We are going to talk to the survivor of the explosion."
"A survivor? So someone did managed to catch a glimpse of it?" Chuuya questioned.
"Yep." The girl replied simply. "In fact, the survivor is gifted. And you've already met them."
Just as (Y/N) finished talking, a loud explosion roared from the distance. The two quickly whipped their heads around and saw black, murky smoke tainted the blue skies. The smell of burnt wood invading the air slowly. Gunshots were faintly heard in the distance.
(Y/N) clicked her tongue. "Oh dear. It looks like the culprit must have gotten to them already. What a shame. What a shame."
"Quit your useless yapping and move." Chuuya didn't look back as he bolted forward towards the raging flames. (Y/N) could only sigh tiredly and follow him shortly after.
