It all happened so fast.
At first, everything was quiet. The sound of Chuuya's foot tapping anxiously against the floor was the only sound that could be heard throughout the dimly illuminated office.
Then, he saw it.
Or, he saw her.
Nakahara Chuuya makes one final eye contact with his boss, (L/N) (Y/N), as she falls to her death just on the other side of the thin sheet of glass that separates him from the outside world.
Her body fell. Gravity drew her away from the rooftop and toward the ground in a slow and deliberate manner. It was a very long way away.
The sound of the collision could not be heard from within the office.

Chuuya has lived long enough to have seen a great deal of devastation throughout his life, much of which he has brought about with his own hands. However, the devastation that he sees the moment he steps outside of the Port Mafia headquarters causes him to lose his breath. The first thing that comes to his attention is the putrid odor of death, then the utter amount of damage to the building, then finally, the body of his boss, his former boss, lying splattered on the pavement.
Despite the enormity of everything else screaming at his senses, his attention is entirely arrested by the sight of (Y/N), in the same way it was when she was alive. Unlike the girl in life, though, (Y/N) in death looks so small, her body swallowed up by the layers of her overcoat, and all around there's a mess of gore. Her head is cracked open, brain matter and blood pooling on the concrete, but there's a smile on her face, a genuine smile, as though she's been relieved of some great pain.
Chuuya wants to scream at her.
"Sending me away, making me find out through your fucking secretary," he grits out, glaring. "Not even bothering to clean up the mess you left behind. Denying me—" His voice catches horribly, and the rest of the thought doesn't make it out. "I oughta leave you out for the crows."
