Ten guards stomp their feet aggressively and march towards the young man standing with a hand hanging dead fowl in his custody. His eyes move away as his senses get sparked up.

"Nari!" Seo Jin exclaims and thrashes the fowl away from him. Min Kyu's hands find its way slowly to his mouth while short coughs proceeds taking a toll of him.

The other guards surround the area and return with a positive look. "There seems to be a graveyard for fowls at the backyard."

He lets out a sigh and stares anxiously at Seo Jin who also has a look of pure fear in his eyes.

"That girl's a vampire too. She hid it so well. If that's the case, she can kill you? Who is she?"

Min Kyu lowers his head in abstract shock while looking around. A lot of confusing thoughts run through his head as he stands speechless at the back end of the house.

"Nari! We have to kill her! She might kill others without the blood smeared fowls. What if she's the one also killing children in the town? She might even know that you're one too."

His face turns pale with the suggestions his trusted aide makes so confidently matching up to the situation in the town. Everything almost points to me including the death of Soo Bin.

After all, she also left to work in the palace but she dies a few days after. Ji Min won't be stupid to leave her body in the town as the people are already instigated to dethrone the Crown Prince.

Gu Mo's also seclusion and kills in the town and not the palace. He raises his head quickly and stares angrily at him after shaking his head.

"Don't even think about hurting her!"

Seo Jin widens his eyes in shock after he pulls out his sword in anger alarming the other guards with him. "She's cunning! We must not let her roam around here. What if she's Ji Min's puppet?"

A loud silence accompanies his statement. The other guards pull their swords out too and bow with an affirmative glare.

"No! No one should hurt her. I have to find out first. She might even be in danger staying there."

Seo Jin lets out a chuckle and throws a curious gape.

"Danger? Min Kyu, you should think of the town's safety. If she's a vampire and the fowls are out after the fire, what do you think she'll feed on next?"

A fearful short glance is exchanged among the guards who stand in a circle around the house. Min Kyu purses his lips in contemplation but Seo Jin seems pretty convinced to think further on the matter.

"Why do you defend her anyway! Do you like her or is it because of Bo Mi?" His eyes turns up to glare at him for a while in shock as his men stand beside him looking at him too for an answer.

Moon Bin watches me quietly and remains silent for a while almost a good number of minutes. I fold my lips and clasp my palms to calm my nerves.

"Is that why your mother never liked you?" My head turns down to the bridge when a branch breaks down into the water.

"She wasn't my real mother. I was adopted into their home due to Bo Mi's father's insistence."

His eyes study my lips in shock as I mutter about my past, something I dread on so much. It's still a mystery to me, even till now.

"He was dying when I was able to bring them to him. She hated me because he died saving me from an attack one night."

I turn down my face and stare below the bridge for quite sometime remembering whatever happened that night.
