All hell breaks loose with his intuition. Who would have imagined this would be the case? Min Kyu sits quietly on a pillow in front of a short table with his legs crossed.
"What do you mean by that?" His aunt asks curiously while she keeps herself busy with packing a collection of mugs and bowls to the shelves which is lifted at the right corner of their kitchen.
She is in her normal cream robe touching the floor with golden intricate designs at the edges of the clothing.
Her black hair is tied into a bun with a golden hairpin hanging in her hair. Their house seems finer and more elegant than the other commoner's house.
It has been refurbished with glass doors and golden frame windows, plus a smooth tiled floor all over the house. His aunt clears her hand with the running water from the tap and whisks her hands to dry them up, thereafter drying it up with a napkin lying by the tap.
"If I'm not wrong, I think he's a vampire too."
Surprised with the fold of events, his aunt lets go of the napkin in her hand in shock as she stands two feet from him refusing to blink her eyes. Staying silent for a few minutes, she takes a step forward and folds her lips.
"Then—it's an atrocity! How can the king sign him up to rule before he died. Vampires cannot be allowed to rule the country!"
Min Kyu turns to her with tears welling up in his eyes after hearing her disgust for his kind, even though he is half human.
What she said keeps ringing in his thoughts and makes him angry and devastated all together. Fidgeting with despair on how to react to her words, he hesitates to remain in his seat.
His aunt becomes suddenly quiet as she fumbles to complete her words. How could she have said that to him? It was like adding salt to his injury. He nods quietly and gets back on his feet for a moment.
"I-I didn't mean it that way. I-I'm sorry." Min Kyu walks out sadly ignoring her end statement. With his mind occupied with thoughts, he doesn't hear her.
She starts to run after him when she realizes he has fallen into a daze. Holding her hanbok with one hand, he pushes the door back and runs after him.
I crumple the paper and place my hands behind me when I see Bo Mi coming closer. With my upper arm, I wipe my tears and plaster a fake smile on my face to hide the fact that I was crying.
She looks over me with her troubled eyes before she touches my shoulders. "Are you okay?"
I return a quick nod while smiling at her. She stares back at the burnt house sadly and turns to me with a melancholic look.
"Let's leave here. It's smoky." She covers her mouth with her bent arm as she starts to cough from the awful state the house is in. Smoke still emanates from the burning wood, although it is not like it was before.
I squabble quietly and turn around to take one last glance at the house.
Bo Mi, I'm sorry for hiding this from you. But I have to do this alone. There's someone after me. I have to find out and get justice for eomeoni. Have faith in me...I'll do this.
With a dark blue sky upfront and twinkly stars rummaging in the helpless sky, a large house is exposed below.
There is a particular one his eyes that consistently sparkles in a different way in his eyes. Min Kyu lays his body over a fence while remembering some horrible memories.
