Extending her hand, she lowers her head. Woo Hyun jerks up from where he sits and turns to whatever she was referring to. Staring blankly at the necklace in her hands, the maid walks forward and drops it beside him.
"Here. I'll take my leave now Your Highness." With that, she looks down before dropping it on a table near him. Right after, she bows and walks away immediately after. Confused, Woo Hyun gets down on his feet and picks the necklace up staring at it in shock.
Could it be the necklace she was talking about. How did it even end up with me?
As the necklace entangles in between his fingers, he keeps staring at it for minutes while turning it all around to have a better view of it. Looking at the quality of the necklace, it seems quite expensive and fine to belong to an ordinary commoner.
Deep in thoughts, he doesn't hear approaching steps. Moon Bin moves along the hallway holding his sword up too. Patrolling around the palace, he finds Woo Hyun sitting idle. With a sigh, he stops on his way out and walks towards him. He pauses a feet from him when he sees a jade necklace in his hands.
"Woo Hyun. Where did you get that?" Moon Bin accentuates. His sudden presence startles the hell out of him. Drawn back from his thoughts, his eyes move around hapazardly as he unconsciously hides the necklace away. He crumples it in his palm and turns to him with a sigh.
Staring at Moon Bin for a moment, he tears his gaze and retorts, "It's nothing. Do you need anything?"
Moon Bin walks to him and forcefully takes the necklace from his palm. Gritting his teeth, he tries to take it back from him but Moon Bin makes a quick wave and steps back from him.
"Since when did you start stealing necklace from girls? Or is it a present for a girl?" He raises his eyebrows and scans the designs on the necklace. Looking up again, a cute smile draws from his lips.
Perplexed by his awkward question, he scoffs and returns a short laugh. "I didn't steal it and I didn't get it for any girl. I don't even know how it got amongst my things," Woo Hyun debates before snatching it from him. "I guess it's for that girl from the townsquare. So return it to her."
He scoffs and holds the necklace in his hands as it almost slips.
"I won't do that. You give it to her. She's annoying."
Moon Bin can't help but to laugh and put it back on the table. "You took it in the first place. You should have seen her face. You startled her too!"
Oblivious to his own attitude, he folds his lips and lifts his head. He lowers his eyes clearly annoyed by his statement. "That doesn't affect me in anyway. Return it to her." Moon Bin attempts to protest but he cuts him off after he raises his hand at him.
"Just do what I told you to do! It's an order."
Unfazed, Moon Bin turns to the jade necklace and picks it while gazing at it keenly. "Speaking of that, this necklace looks quite exquisite. For her situation, I bet she should have sold it already. But she's still keeping it."
His feet stop moving forward the moment he utters those words. Turning back to him, Moon Bin marches towards him and adds on.
"Moreover, she doesn't look quite ordinary as she seems. Won't it be better to investigate her identity—"
"—that's not really needed. Just return it to her during your patrols."
With a heavy sigh, he nods before Woo Hyun walks away. Staring at the necklace again, his eyebrows curve curiously.
