"Shane!"
My eyes were wide open as my mind was trying to wrap my head around what was happening.
"I-I-I thought you were leaving?" I stuttered.
"I was til Eric convinced me stay. He thought you and I should talk about our differences. But I think I got my answer." He said dryly.
"How so?" I was so confused and the questions in my head were started to explode like popcorn.
"After watching you sing with James. I knew you could carry us where we need to be. You have a good voice, but it's not the talent that carries your performance. It's how you execute it. The way you light up. I could never do that and that's what sets us apart." He explained as he stared at the ground. "But now I know. Now I know why Eric wants you in. Will you forgive me for how I acted?" Shane asked as he stared into my eyes and at that moment I felt our connection.
The kind of connection that you have with someone that takes you back to the good times. The part in the relationship where it's pure and all you want is to be with each other and not looking for time apart. Where you knew you could spend every moment together if it never changed.
But we did change. However, at the split second I felt that feeling where I knew if we were like this and never changed. We could work out our differences and that's why I said –
"Yes, yes I will accept your apology."
"Thanks bro" Shane said with a grin. "Now who's ready to party!"
"I'm in!" Mopey said excitedly
"I second that!" James replied
"If there are girly drinks" Katie chuckled.
"Sam?" Eric asked, "You in?"
"Sure why not" I smiled, "As long as we respect Katie's request. I'm in."
"Alright, write down the requests and pitch in with the monies and let's get this started." Eric ordered, "Til then let Sam and I talk out some minor details and we can get this party started."
As the boys and Katie started rambling on about the drinks they wanted Eric pulled me aside.
"Your Paramore cover is awesome. That would be nice to add to the set list, but what about originals?" Eric's eyes were ablaze with new found passion.
"I could work on some. I have some of my own, but they're all sad ballads." I said with a little uncertainty.
"I was just wondering so I knew what I was working with. But we can worry about that later. Let's just party it up and forget about band details." Eric said then put his hand on my shoulder. "You have no idea how good you are." And with that he walked away.
I started to blush. Someone really hot thinks I'm really talented.
"Whoa-oh-oh-oh"
"It's always a good time"
"Whoa-oh-oh-oh"
"Good time?" Katie asked.
"My ringtone, but who would be calling me so late." I said as I looked at my phone. "Oh my God."
It was Alex.
