Thud went the car doors as we were exiting his Mercedes and I noticed the apartment building was huge.

“Welcome back sir.” Said the valet as Rob handed him his keys.

“Hello Tom, hope your day is going well.” Rob replied as we made our way into the all-white interior building.

It was absolutely gorgeous. I could not believe the spiral staircase and the wall lined with elevators. But in the center of this almost beehive inspired architecture was the circular circulation desk planted in the middle of the lobby. Rob passed me and went straight to the desk and started talking to the lady; both of them all smiles.

Wandering me began to investigate the apartment, but I couldn’t find a name. So I began to ascend the stairs looking for answers and found the next level was a bunch of people conversing, laughing, playing music, games, eating. It was like an epic hangout. I just continued walking and then a smiling gentleman gave me a mug of something and continued walking.

I was cautious at first til I noticed the mug had my name on it and I took a sip. It was a carmel expresso, one of my favorite coffee related drinks.

“HEY!”

I jumped dumping the hot beverage all over me as a pair of firm hands gripped my shoulders.

“I’m so sorry!” Rob gasped as he started taking his shirt off and started mopping up the mess.

Several employees surrounded me stripping me of my clothes and started handing me new ones. They were cleaning up the mess and shouting as they carted Rob and I to a private room.

This new room was comfy and small but just big enough for us to change and clean.

“Are you hurt?” Rob said with worry burrowing in his brow. “I didn’t know…”

“It’s alright. I’m not hurt. By the way what is this building and how do they know my name already?” I asked really curious, but now getting thoroughly distracted by Rob’s Greek, chiseled, body.

“This is where I live!” He was now grinning, “And I ordered them to give you at that drink as you arrived in our room, but apparently there was a mix up.” Now worry covered his face again.

“It’s alright. It’s just I have never seen such a place. Everyone looks so friendly and it’s so clean. It’s like everyone knows everything, and everything knows its place.” I was so taken aback by this place. I still could not fathom that such a place existed. Why, this place could franchise all over the world and be the first place to live. No one would need a house.

“Yes, yes that is one of their mottos. This is what the take pride in. But anyways want to go to the room?” Rob was now dressed in an all-white pajama like clothing, as was I, and he held out his hand.

I took his hand and he led me to the nearest elevator and his number 99.

“Are there more floors than 99?” I asked.

“Nope.” He smiled. “I own the highest floor here.

“Then why would you want a house?” I was so curious. Rob is such a mysterious person to me.

“I just want a house that is mine and not owned by someone else. Do you understand?” He said this not to quiet me but just for me to see where he stands.

And I understood. As I nodded my agreement it hit me. I want to move here with him. So I don’t have to be under my parents control anymore. I am almost 20 and announcing my leave to New York would be the greatest birthday gift ever.

DING

Sounded the elevator bell.

Woooosh

Sounded the doors.

There before my eyes, was the most beautiful room I could imagine.

A small Koi pond occupied the side by the windows occupying the three quarters of the room. Couches, love seats, small fire place. Then there was a huge kitchen, large kitchen table, and doors leading to other rooms. There is no way I can explain his flat. Because it wasn’t an apartment, it was a penthouse and then some crammed into a floor.

“Wow.”
