"Time to wake up my darlings!" I said with an evil grin as I turned on the lights in the very dark apartment.
To my surprise all the people were gone except Shane.
"Wow. Where'd everyone go?" I asked.
No one answered and the only sounds I heard was Katie, Eric, and Alex picking up the place while Shane was complaining about the light.
"Alright then I am just talking to myself." I walked over to Shane and handed him my untouched omelet.
"Here this is for you." I said while handing him a fork with the food.
"Egg. Really? Are you trying to kill me?" He said while eating it. "You should know how eggs make me feel nauseous bro."
"Yeah well you're eating it so quit complaining and get cleaned up. Dad wants to talk to me about my priorities in life."
"Ooo and I should care why? I'm not done partying." He washed down the now completely gone omelet with someone's leftover alcohol sitting on the coffee table.
"Um. Ew." I said and walked away.
"Hey! No wasted alcohol is my policy." He yelled.
"Yeah, but the alcohol is gone because it evaporates while sitting out. So you are just drinking the gross stuff man." Eric said while he entering the living room.
"I just hope there is some Jack Daniel Fruit Punch is left because that shit is good." Katie said while dragging a trash bag around picking up random cups and paper plates.
"Nope I finished the remaining one's and Sam tipped over a bottle when he literally passed out on the pull out." Alex said and winked at me.
"Oh stop. I wasn't that bad last night." I said and giggled.
"Unfortunately you weren't." he said and playfully punched my arm.
"Okay now calm down you guys." Eric said while Alex threw me down on the pull out couch. "We need to pack that up and get this place back to normal.
"Yeah Alex. Geez." I said while pushing him off.
"Oh you guys are no fun." Alex said while stealing a kiss.
But in that split second I was sent to cloud nine. Gosh I love his kisses, so much.
"Alright thanks!" Katie said and did a victory punch. "Aside from the stains from Sam and Shane's party fouls this place looks normal. Thank God we picked a crappy, cheap, apartment or I would care what this looks like."
Eric kissed her on the cheek. "Totally, but it was so worth it.
"We should leave. I am interested in what Dad has to say." I said with concern.
"But I just woke up bro! We should head over to Mopey's and hangout." Shane whined.
"No, you need a shower and isn't Joy coming over today?" I asked.
"Shit I forgot!" Shane practically shouted. "Sorry guys but we got to go."
"Alright band practice next week?" Eric asked.
"Sure I'll text Katie." I replied.
Shane grabbed his stuff and headed out the door with Alex and I at his heels. We all yelled our goodbyes with quick hugs and out the door we went.
As we got in the car I sat in the back Alex and we were just sitting close with the windows down. The summer air was blowing in and it was just perfect. Of course I head my sunglasses on because the light was a little too bright and Alex had his arm around my shoulder with his hand resting on my chest.
"I don't want you to leave." I said.
"I don't either but I have to." He said with his voice drifting off.
We pulled in at Anthony's house and he started getting out of the car and I grabbed his arm.
"Sometime this week we'll hangout right?" I said quietly.
"Yeah we will." He smiled and with that I watched him go into the house while we drove off.
....................................................
As we pulled into our long paved driveway I kept thinking how beautiful our 27 acre country home was. Gardens in the front part of land with trees and green lawns surrounding our ranch style home. A big red barn sat in another corner that my dad worked on farm equipment in and down a couple hills was a wooden one where we kept our hay and other animals. Most of the land was dominated by a sea of green grass we used for hay in the winter and other parts for open-range cattle and goats. I basically lived in a paradise closed off from the rest of the world you could say.
We pulled in under a row of trees where we parked our many cars during the summer and got out. Our three dogs ran out to meet us with much joy and they were very vocal about it.
"Hey Franny the tranny." Shane said loudly to our Chihuahua. "Would you kindly shut the hell up. Hangover goin' on ya know."
"Hey Kate, hey Bullet." I said in a high-pitched voice while vigorously rubbed the both behind the ears.
"So they return!" My Mom yelled over to us while coming out of her greenhouse.
"Yeah." We both said and made haste to the house.
"Aren't you gonna give me a kiss?" She asked while trying to follow us.
"Uhm, I have to get cleaned up before Joy gets over here." Shane said quickly and slammed the bathroom door shut.
"Is Mason coming?" She asked. She loves it when they both come, because Mason and I are what you so an unofficial couple that will never happen.
"Uh, no." I answered for Shane and I closed my bedroom door.
My Mom opened it of course. "You know my rule. Never have your door shut,
"And you know how I feel about my privacy." I said and tried to shut it.
"But you live under my house." She retorted.
"Dad's." I quickly replied.
"Which is mine until he comes home from work." She rebuttled.
The dogs started going crazy at the moment. Meaning Dad was home.
"Which is now. So if you will excuse me I will be changing my clothes unless you'd like to watch." I said with much sass.
"Not like I haven't seen one." She said and leaned against the doorway.
"Oh my God." I said and rolled my eyes.
"Never use the Lord's name in vain, or your tongue will rot in hell." She said defensively.
"Whatever." And I started to take my clothes off.
With that she walked away. I knew she didn't want to watch. I quickly closed my door and took off my skinny's and white tee shirt and put on an oversized short sleeve and sport shorts. I was taking a shower after Shane anyways even though it was five in the afternoon. Right when I sat down someone knocked at my door, so quickly got up and answered. My Dad was standing in the doorway.
"We need to talk." He ordered.
Do I need to say it?
Shit.
