chapt 6

The bright sun wakes me up and I sit up tiredly looking around, Shawn's sitting up looking out the window. "Good morning" I say. He doesn't say anything so I stand up in front of him, my phone in his hand. "Who's sage?" He asks.

"She's just a friend, she was dating one of my other friends, trust me nothing's going on with either of them" I explain. He nods "just making sure, I don't want to keep trying to impress you even more" he says.

I laugh and sit beside him "ok good, so we're still on for tomorrow?" I ask. He nods "oh definitely" he says. "Good, I smell coffee so let's get our day started" I say. He wraps his arm around me from the side and I turn slightly before he grabs my face gently kissing me.

Before anything goes further theres a knock on my door. "Come in" I say turning. She opens the door holding a cup of coffee "morning roomie" she says before noticing shawn sitting on my bed without a shirt.

"Oh uh hello shawn" she says before smirking at me. Nothing happened last night besides some kissing. "Good morning uh the coffee smells great" he says standing up awkwardly.

She gives him a nod then leaves so we can change. He just puts his shirt back on and goes to the kitchen. I decide to wear leggings, knee high socks and one of my oversized shirts. "You look cute" he says once he sees me in the kitchen.

I smile handing him a cup of coffee "here just how you like it" I say. He smiles after taking a sip "thank you" he says pulling me in for a hug.

This feels like it might be going fast so I pull away slightly and finish my cup then I pour myself another. "Crap I can't drive you to work" he says looking at his watch.

"That's okay go do whatever" I wave it off."you sure?" He asks. "Yes shawn I'm fine driving myself" I reply. He nods "okay, I'll talk to you later then" he says before leaving without a word.

Claire looks at me with her eyebrows raised "that was a tad harsh" she says. I shrug taking a sip of my coffee "I don't want to get too deep into this" I reply.

She shakes her head "just dive right in" she says. I sigh shrugging "I uh I don't know if I should" I say. "Come on when was the last time you had as much fun as you do with him?" She asks.

I sigh in defeat "fine I'll give in" I say. "Good, now I'll see you in a few hours" she says. I nod and get ready for my class, we're doing it online since it's only 45 minutes so they don't want to make us go in just for that.

My phone goes off a couple times but I ignore it and focus on my class. It goes by and I go through my schedule for the week before driving over to the shop.

When I get there Claire's sitting on the counter looking at a paper. "Hey what's up?" I ask. "The owners are moving the shop in 2 weeks, but it's closer to the apartment not by much but it's less of a drive" she answers.

I nod "well then, what do we have to do?" I ask. "On the last day we aren't technically open so the guys will be here and packing everything oh and it's a bigger shop so we'll have to hire a couple more people" she says.

My phone buzzes again and I sigh "sage or shawn?" She asks. "Sage" I whisper. "Uh Shawn saw the messages that she left last night" I add. "Oh jeez, how'd that go?" She asks.

I shrug "explained that we're just friends" I answer. We get a few customers so the talk stops before shawn walks in with someone that looks around his age maybe a year or two older.

"Hi ladies" he greets us. I smile "hi shawn what can I get you?" I ask. "A hot chocolate with a mint tea bag, oh and a kiss" he says. His friend looks between us slightly confused and I laugh.

After making his odd drink I lean over the counter and peck his lips. "How was your class?" I ask. "Good" he whispers before kissing me again. "Do you do this to all of the baristas?" His friend asks.

He chuckles "nah just this one" he answers. "The kiss is a new addition to the order" claire says. "Is this the girl you were talking about?" He asks shawn. His face turns a tad red "you talk about me?" I ask surprised.

"You're just as pretty as he described, he didn't mention a beautiful friend" he says looking over at claire. "Aw that's cute, I'm not looking unfortunately" she says. "Not even a friend?" He asks.

She raises her eyebrows and then shrugs all before writing her number on his wrist with Sharpe. Instead of leaving they go over to the corner with their drinks.

We go back to work and they're still here a couple hours later so I go over to check on them. "Can I get you guys another drink? Or a baked pastry" I ask. "Mmmm how about you be creative" shawn says. I nod "another kiss too?" I ask jokingly.

He smiles and nods "sure" he whispers. I smile and peck his lips gently "there, on the house" I say. He chuckles making me smile even more. "Can I get you anything?" I turn asking his friend. "Oh uh just another americano please" he answers.

They leave shortly after finishing their drinks, shawn let's me know he'll see me tomorrow morning. A few hours later we close up and head back home.

I text her to tell her I'm grabbing food on the way and she said she's going to get ice cream and other snacks and that we can just meet at home.

Since I'm too lazy to go into a store I go through the drive thru of the closest McDonalds, I get her nuggets and fries and I get myself nuggets and fries as well.

While I'm driving back home Jacob messages me, he's taking a longer break so I won't be hearing much from him. When I get home Claire's already watching tv with a glass of wine ready.

I pour myself a glass and then we pig out on nuggets and watch tv for the rest of the night. I end up falling asleep just passed midnight.
