Chapt 23

Unfortunately the virus has gotten a bit worse and there's a few cases in California and a couple thousand over north America. Sadly England is pretty bad and they've been instructed to stay home for the next 2 weeks.

Nothing is keeping us from doing our regular jobs and everyday activities yet so I'm still teaching until we are told to stay home. It's the weekend so I'm marking the last weeks worth of homework.

Claire comes rushing into the living room from her room "put on the news" she says. "What? Why?" I ask. "Just do it" she says. I sigh putting it on the news, the president is speaking and everyone behind him are wearing medical masks.

"Due to this virus and rising cases I am asking everyone stays home for the next 2 weeks over spring break, if you decide to leave your house please be safe and wear a mask and socially distance 6 feet apart" he says and starts explaining the quarantine rules and restrictions.

Only places open will be grocery stores and restaurants, there's nothing about a mask mandate yet and schools are closed for the next two weeks. Hopefully things get better in these two weeks. I want to be able to see my girlfriend.

We both sigh "this is kinda scary" claire says. I nod in agreement and we talk for a bit on how we're going to do this quarantine thing.

She's going to be working since the shop is technically a restaurant and I'll be off so hopefully she doesn't bring anything home, we're going to be careful though. "And since joseph doesn't live here we won't be seeing each other" she says frowning.

I think of what we could do so they won't have to be separate "what if he just moved in the for two weeks so you don't have to be seperate" I suggest. She thinks for a few seconds and I can see the gears in her brain working.

"I'll ask him" she says. "Okay no worries, I guess since I am off for the next two weeks I don't have to mark these" I say putting the work away. Sage texts me 'vc?' And I grab my earbuds putting them in while claire texts Joseph.

She hops in right after I do "these next few weeks are going to be rough" she says. "I know, we're in quarantine now too" I pout. "Awe no bub I'm sorry" she whispers. "Its worse there babe, how many cases now?" I ask. "5 thousand in England" she says. "Shit, they updated the count for cali and it's now 1 thousand" I say.

We talk for a bit before she starts yawning "I'm tired" I hear her whisper. I giggle "go to sleep bub" I tell her. "Ok baby I'll talk to you tomorrow" she says sleepily. We both leave and then claire looks over at me. "That was cute" she says.

I smile and go into the kitchen grabbing some wine. "Want some?" I ask her. "Nah I work tomorrow don't wanna wake up hungover" she answers. "Valid" I reply taking a giant sip. "However I do not work" I say sitting down putting the bottle on the table while the glass is in my hand.

She laughs shaking her head and turning off the news putting our show on. I get day drunk and soon the hours slip away and Joseph is walking in the door with a couple suitcases full of clothes. "I also stoped and got more wine I wasn't sure if you were out or not" he says.

"You're wonderful" I tell him as he hands me the bottle. I pour him a glass because he probably needs it and claire brings his stuff to her room. "Thank you for letting me be here" he says. "I just want her to be happy and you bring us alcohol" I joke.

He rolls his eyes and she comes back hugging him from the side "I missed you" I hear her whisper. "Welp I'm going to go drink away the sad" I joke going back to the couch.

I end up staying up until almost 4am, around 2 sage messaged me so I decided to stay up and we video chatted for 2 hours before she told me to go to sleep.

My alarm wakes me up at the normal time and i groan hitting snooze. "I'm off I'm sleeping more" I tell myself. I fall right back asleep sleeping for a few more hours.

While I'm making something to eat my phone buzzes a few times and I quickly look. My moms asking if I'm ok and how I'm going to handle not working the next couple weeks.

After quickly texting her back I message sage. I wait for her in voice chat on discord turning my camera on and dancing around the kitchen. I hear her start laughing while I dance and flip over a pancake.

"Hi love" she says. I stop and look over at her "hi you" I say. "How did you sleep?" She asks. I smile "good, could've used someone to cuddle" I answer. She pouts "I know one day love one day" she says.

I nod "I know, I just hope these 2 weeks works and we can be together" I say. "Me too" she replies. She watches me finish making my breakfast and we talk while I eat.

Claire's already at work and will be all day, harrison got the virus so he'll be staying home until he is better. We end up watching a few movies together in discord since we're both not working and we're bored.

She starts yawning and I remember how late it is for her. "Baby go to bed" I tell her. She shakes her head "no I wanna see your face still" she says. I blush and smile "how sweet but you need your sleep" I say. "Fine fine I'll go to sleep" she says her accent coming out even more.

"Good night babe" she whispers before leaving. I leave and then put my show on watching it until claire comes home. She brings home any extra food they had at the coffee shop putting some in the freezer and handing me a few muffins.

We snack on them for a bit before Joseph comes back from work. "Hi baby" claire smiles kissing him. Feeling grossed out I go on my phone scrolling through twitter trying to ignore them kissing.

They order a bunch of food for dinner and we pig out for the night and I get drunk again after eating. They go to bed around 11 and I stay up watching my show and around 2am sage messages me.

I stay up until 4am again videochatting with her and I end up waking up around noon. Claire and joseph are both gone to work so I make my breakfast and go on a jog.

After a mile i run back not getting in contact with anyone on the way and immediately showering once I get back to the apartment. Sage messages me when I hop out and I join the voice chat as I change into clean clothes.

We end up videochatting again until she fall asleep, she doesn't leave the chat so I stay and eventually falling asleep as well.
