Chapt 29

My alarm goes off and I jump up looking around, it's still dark out and I check my phone and it's 3am. Sage wanted to video chat but I wanted to sleep for a couple hours first.

"Awe hey love you look sleepy" she says. I smile "hi baby, its 3am here" I reply. She frowns "it's so late there, I just got out of a meeting" she says. "How was it?" I asked.

She smiles and starts talking about her work and how the meeting went while I lay in my bed 5,482 miles away from her. "That's amazing babe" I say as she finishes. "Yeah, hows covid over there?" She asks.

I sigh trying not to think of it "it's gotten worse babe, it's now november and masks are mandated again I truely don't know how long this virus is going to keep going" I tell her. She frowns "it's bad here too" she says.

We likely won't get to be together again for christmas which sucks but I want to send her gifts. "Maybe it'll be better in the summer" I say. She nods feeling hopeful as well "maybe, then you can come visit" she says. I nod smiling "yes exactly" I say.

"I would love for you to come and visit" she says pouting. "Me too" I whisper back. Tomorrow I'm going to start planning when I can go visit sage. I won't need a Visa since I'll only be there for a month. "Maybe I'll come with you and stay for a month" she adds.

That causes me to sit up more feeling excited "wait really? So we'd get two months together instead of one" I ask her. "Yes exactly!" She says. She has to go back to work so we hang up and I go back to sleep.

A few more months go by and the virus is still bad but it's not too bad. It's now the middle of April, neither of us have managed to get sick and we've both gotten a booster shot.

This pandemic has been going on for about 2 years now, which is 2 years of long distance. When I pictured doing long distance it was visits every couple months and not having to worry if the borders will be open.

Fortunately for us neither of our borders have closed since they opened up last May dispite the amount of cases each country has. "So when was your flight for?" My mom asks. "This school year ends the beginning of june so like june 15th I'll be leaving at 8am" I answer.

She nods "and you're gone for a month?" She asks. "Yes, sage is going to show me around london and probably a few smaller towns" I answer. "That sounds so fun kai I'm happy you've found someone like her" she says.

When I came out it took some time for my parents to adjust but in the end they're supportive even tho I don't speak to my father that much anymore. "Me too mom, she's coming back and spending the rest of the summer here you'll have to meet her" I tell her. "Oh yes of course! I'm sorry I didn't get to meet her when she was here" she replies.

"It's totally okay, I had her busy the whole time" I say waving it off. "Ok I'm back, when do I get to meet sage?" My sister asks. "The second half of the summer, she's coming back with me" I answer. Her eyes widen looking excited "really? Ahhh that's awesome, is she staying for good?" She asks.

I frown shaking my head "nope not yet, hopefully soon" I answer. "The distance must be tough huh especially with the virus" she says. "It's very tough, but with video chatting and voice chatting when we can it's gotten easier" I reply.

While we're talking my phone buzzes, a message from sage saying she's off of work. "Oh she is off from work now" I say. "That shows the time difference, we're having lunch and she's going home from work" my sister points out.

I message her back letting her know I'll be able to video chat soon. "I'm full" I say sitting back. "Yeah me too, shall we go?" My mom asks. I nod and we stand up, before I can take out my card my mom's already paying for me.
