Chapt 38

The couple of weeks with her parents was so fun, sage had to work for a few of the days so I took her parents out and they got to me and I got to know them and what sage was like growing up.

On the last day she had to work for a few hours so I took her mom for coffee at the coffee shop where we sat for a little bit talking.

"So you are great for my daughter I am thankful she found someone like you, it makes me less anxious knowing that she is safe with you" her mom tells me. I smile and think of what she is trying to say "thank you it means a lot" I say. She smiles and grabs my hand "if you want to marry her one day my husband and I would love for you to be apart of the family" she says. "I already feel apart of it" I reply.

It was a good talk. Her dad had said the same a few days in. Tomorrow we are leaving to Vegas for a few days just to spend sometime the two of us.

But today claire and I are finishing up the final things on her wedding. She just needs a final fitting for the dress and to find someone to do her makeup. They talked and realized they want to be married this year so they are aiming for the fall, normally weddings have a reception but they decided against it.

"What are you doing instead? You don't want to have a dance party?" I ask her. She shrugs "meh, we'll have a party next summer on the first day we chose" she says. "Good idea" I reply. "Dont get hitched in vegas" she jokes.

I laugh rolling my eyes "we have no plans on doing that, don't get pregnant before the wedding" I joke back. "We are actually planning on trying like right after we get married" she says. "Ew I don't need to know what the wedding night plans are" I joke.

She rolls her eyes "not what I meant, the month after we are gonna start trying" she says. "That could either take forever or not take long at all" I say. She nods "I know, that's why we want to start right away" she replies.

We finish up a couple of hours later and I meet sage at her work to pick her up. She comes running out when she sees the car. "Hey baby I've missed you" she says getting in and grabbing my face. "Hi" I whisper.

"How was today?" She asks. "Good, she is pretty much done wedding planning" I answer pulling out of the parking lot. "Oh wow, September first right?" She asks. "Yup just a few months" I answer grabbing her hand.

I know we just got back together a few weeks ago but I want to propose badly. We talked about who would and we agreed that we both would so we each get our chance. I hope we are by the wedding so I can show her off.

As I'm driving I hold her hand gently and she talks about her work day. "That sounds awesome babe" I reply. "I'm so ready for vegas though" she says. "Me too" I whisper looking at her.

She grabs my face gently and kisses me "I love you" she says. "I love you too" I reply pecking her lips.

Once we're home we pack for the weekend and then order something to eat. "So when we get married I think I want a dress with pockets" she says. I giggle and look at her "if you want a dress with pockets you can get a dress with pockets" I reply.

For claire's wedding she is wearing a violet suit with a black dress shirt and I'm wearing a violet floor length dress. I havent given it much thought as to what I'll be wearing on my wedding. I don't think it matters if one of us is in a suit or we're both wearing suits or we're both wearing dresses. 

"Mmmm maybe a suit with a cape or a dress" I shrug. "Oooh wait a cape, I didn't know that was an option" she pouts. I giggle "maybe we can get you a custom suit with a Cape" I say. Her eyes light up and she nods excited kind of like a golden retriever. "Oooh and a rainbow handkerchief for the front pocket" she says.

I nod "whatever you want babe, I think I'll steal your idea of a dress with pockets" I say. She smiles "you're gonna look beautiful no matter what" she replies.

We eat and just spend the rest of the night cuddled up with bobby before we go to vegas in the morning.

After the almost 6 hour drive we settle into the hotel room. "Nap first or food?" Sage asks sitting on the end of the bed. "Nap" I answer putting my bag on the floor.

"Sounds good to me" she says. I plop next to her in bed and we have an hour long nap before changing and going to get something to eat.

Our trip unfortunately goes by quicker than both of us wanted, we didn't drunkingly get married or do anything we shouldn't have. We walked around the hotel and up and down the strip shopping and just spending time just the two of us.

The summer is filled with finishing the final touches on Claire's wedding and I also started to look for engagement rings for sage.

Sage has been working her butt off and she started to file for a new work visa so when her current one expires that one kicks in right after.

Last weekend claire had her bachelorette party, we didn't go too hard but we did have fun. Today is the day she gets married. She spent the night at our apartment and we spent it doing face masks and grooming ourselves.

"I'm so nervous" she whispers. "I know but this is what you've been looking forward to since you met him" I remind her. She nods and let's out a deep breath "I got this" she says. I nod and let her makeup artist finish up and go over to sage.

She pulls me close and smiles "you look beautiful" she whispers. I smile looking her over "you look amazing babe" I reply. She kisses my cheek "love you" she whispers. "Love you" I whisper back.

It's not long before claire is done and we're in the hallway waiting to go down the aisle. I'm standing behind her and Joseph had asked sage if she wanted to stand with his best man and groomsmen and she gladly took the offer.

Right before claire is set to walk down sage and I walk down hand in hand with bright smiles on our faces. I do a hand shake with Joseph before standing with Claire's bridesmaids and sage stands behind his best man.

"As per the brides request please stay seated" the voice on the intercom says. Everyone sitting stays and she comes down the aisle with her dad.

I black out and look over at sage the whole time. After the wedding finishes I help make sure everyone has left and i also make sure all of their presents are packed into their car.

Afterwards sage and I go through the in n out drive thru and go driving around San Diego for a little bit before going home and falling asleep with bobby between our legs.
