Standing outside the airport I let out a sigh as shawn walks away and into the airport. He's going to miami, I'm not sure when I get to see him next but I hope soon.

I drive back home with music playing loudly. We spent all day today and yesterday together but it's still a painful goodbye.

On the way home I make a pit stop at the coffee shop and sit while claire let's me talk. "Are you done?" she asks. I sigh "yeah" I reply. She smiles "good, you know he'll come back to visit and you can make it work" she says.

A few weeks go by and we've hardly talked or video chatted because of the three hour time difference and we've both been extremely busy. We also unfortunately still haven't been able to plan when I go out or when he comes here to visit.

Currently training our new hire, I was right the guy that couldn't do anything didn't last the month and we just hired this new girl she's only a few months younger than me and she can pick up things easily.

The bell above the door dings but I focus on what viola is doing, there's silence for a couple minutes. Harrison's not talking and neither is whoever came through the door.

Right as she finishes the drink a familiar voice starts talking. "Be creative" the voice says. My eyes dart towards the voice and immediately widen, "Harrison take over for me I got this" I say moving him aside.

Before i can tell myself to calm down i run around the counter and right into Shawn's arms. "Surprise" he says. I squeeze him tightly "I've missed you so fucking much" I whisper.

With his arms around my waist he squeezes me back "I've missed you too" he says. While we're hugging in silence I notice that viola and harrison are looking at us, viola being very confused. "Sorry this doesn't normally happen, shawn lives in Miami and we haven't seen each other in almost a month" I let her know.

She smiles "that's cute" she comments and goes back to making a drink. I go on my break and we sit near the window where we put a couch "I really needed that surprise" I say.

"Really? You okay? Do I need to move back?" He asks. "No babe you don't have to move back I love that you're pursuing your dream, I just missed you a lot and I've been working a lot more and they needed a second assistant manager so they promoted me" I reply.

He smiles with pride "I'm so proud of you for that" he says. "Aw thank you, how's Miami?" I ask. "Good, bars making as much as I expected and hopefully in like 2 years I can open another" he answer.

My mind wonders and I shake any negative thoughts away "ha maybe even open it here" i joke. He rubs my knee "that's the plan" he says. "Wait, really?" I ask. He nods "yeah why wouldn't I move back here? The love of my life is here and my families here" he replies.

Since I still have a couple hours to go of my shift shawn just sits on the couch responding to work emails and drinking whatever creation we've come up with since he's moved so far he likes them.

He took an uber from the airport so we take my car back to the apartment, claire was off today so she will also be surprised by shawn. We get up and I unlock it like usual and step into the apartment, "I popped open a new bottle of wine and I'm ready for the longest greys anatomy marathon" claire says from the couch.

Shawn chuckles a little bit knowing I would've been right there if he didn't come and surprise me. "Wait a damn minute that wasn't you making those sounds" she says right before looking right at him.

"Surprise" he says. She laughs lightly "well I guess she won't be needing the wine" she says. "I'm sorry, we can do it another night" I say. She waves it off "it's fine go have fun" she tells me.

I go and change into something different before we head out, we end up seeing a movie, getting something from a drive thru and driving around the city just catching up.

He ends up staying for a whole week and during that we figure out when I'm visiting Miami. In 2 months I'll be in Miami for 2 weeks, claire said I have a ton of vacation time to use up so I'm going.

The drop off was just as bad as dropping him off when he moved. I sat in the car for 5 minutes listening to music and crying before coming back home to cry some more.

It's now been a few days and I've only worked since, I'm almost done school so in a couple weeks I have all of my finals. "Go on break" claire tells me. I nod yawning a bit walking to the back, I sit at the managers desk and have a muffin and scroll on twitter.

As I'm scrolling I get a dm, I take a look and realize that it's sage.

I think for a few minutes before replying.

'Do you? I have a boyfriend'

My break ends and I go back to work for a few more hours. Claire and I carpool home and watch grey's anatomy with some wine.

"Sage messaged me today" I say. Claire pauses the show and sits up looking at me. "What did she say?" She asks.

We spill tea for a little bit before going back to watching the show. We're in season 14 already, we've watched a couple seasons since shawn has gone home.

A few weeks go by and so do my exams, unfortunately shawn and I both have gotten extremely busy and we've hardly video chatted, it's been a little over a year that we've been together and we didn't get to video chat when it hit a year.

It honestly doesn't feel like we're dating, it feels like we're friends that live in different cities. Do I still love him? Yeah I do, but am I in love with him anymore? Not really and I have to be truthful to him at some point.

He finally has a bit of time to video chat so I sit up in my bed. He answers quickly and we catch up a bit. "Uh so I think we need to talk" he says.

Nodding in agreement I let him talk first. "You know I love you, I just think that the distance is getting to be a bit too much" he starts. "Yeah uh I agree" I reply.

"So what are we going to?" He asks. I sigh "I think we should break up" I answer. He nods and looks down "yeah, I think that's what's best" he says. "You also know I love you, both of our schedules got too much" I reply.

We finish up our talk and then end the chat. I feel numb and very tired so I put on music and cry myself to sleep.
