chapt 19

He starts pacing around my room and I stare at the ground. We've been as careful as we can be. "Is it normally late?" He asks. I think of the years I've gotten it and it's only been late a handful of times including when I've been stressed.

"Only when I'm stressed" I say. "Haven't you been stressed lately?" He asks. I nod "yeah maybe that's it, let's give it a week and if I haven't gotten it I'll take a test" I say. He nods in agreement and we go back out acting like normal.

The two of them go to Claire's room and there's complete silence. I lay my head on elis shoulder and he rubs my side. "It'll be fine" he says. I nod "I know" I whisper.

I sit up and lay my legs over his while looking at him "this won't stop you from wanting to do anything tonight right?" I ask. He rubs my knee and then moves it up in between my legs.

Before he could take the lead I straddle his lap and start kissing him while his hands are on my ass. "Are we doing this here?" He whispers in between kissing. I shake my head while keeping our lip connected.

"Pick me up and carry me to my room" I say. He stands up lifting me up, my legs wrap around his waist and my arms go around his neck so I don't fall.

After some moaning and panting we fall asleep for the rest of the night, my alarm goes off at the usual time and I roll over grabbing my phone and sitting up.

I look over after a few minutes and notice my bed is empty on the other side. He never leaves or is awake before my alarm goes off so this is weird of him. There's nothing on the side table so I go out and look around the apartment.

Claire and joseph are having breakfast in the kitchen but there's no eli anywhere. "Did you see eli leave?" I ask feeling confused. "No I didn't, did you see him?" She asks Joseph. "He came out while you were in the bathroom, said he was sorry" he says.

"Wait, kai what's going on?" Claire asks. "My periods late but I've been stressed, I told him I'll wait a week to take a test" I answer staring into space. "Woah" she says. I nod "yeah" I whisper. "That's shit I'm sorry kai" joseph says.

After finding my phone I text him and then I go to Instagram to message him but he has blocked me. "He blocked me on Instagram" I say. Claire looks at her phone and her eyes darken and her jaw clenches.

She shows me her phone and it's a text from eli letting her know he quit. "What a dick" Joseph says. I nod in agreement and just eat the breakfast they made me and the coffee claire brewed. "I'm sorry kai" she says. I shrug "it's not like we were dating, we were just fuck buddies" I say.

A few hours go by and I finish planning my first week of classes. I start in a couple weeks but I just want to be prepared. Claire goes to work and so does joseph.

They've gotten closer since she lost the baby, she's thrown herself into work but she is coping in her own way. While I'm watching tv and binge watching my show I feel myself start to cramp.

I quickly rush over to my bathroom and I've finally gotten my period. Thank god I didn't have to get a test. After putting in a tampton and changing underwear I grab the ice cream he had brought over and eat it.

Claire comes home after closing with harrison. They're gonna be hiring a few people soon since I'm leaving and eli quit without a 2 weeks notice. He also hasn't texted me back.

"You good?" She asks. I nod "yeah my period came" I say. "So it was late by a couple days?" She asks. I nod "yeah and now I'm down a friend with benefits" I say. She frowns "it's okay joseph has a few friends" she jokes.

It's just the two of us tonight so we watch tv and act like stereotypical women on their periods. "Are you okay?" She whispers. I nod "yeah" I reply.

Eli leaving without a word didn't hurt as much as I expected it to. I guess it just means I need to learn to be alone and not actively talking to someone.

A few weeks go by and theres still nothing from eli and nothing from sage, who I haven't talked to in maybe months. I've focused on teaching and spending time with my sister and mom.

Claire, joseph and I are watching tv and stuffing our faces in pizza and drinking bottles of wine. We finish our night and I wrap myself in one of my blankets and plop on my bed falling asleep right away.

As I'm sleeping and my phone is charging I'm getting notifications from the school and texts from different people on twitter and our groupchat is being active again.

One message stands out the most.

Ahhh sorry it's so short I've managed to plan out the next few chapters and some of them have short plans so that means short chapters but i hope you enjoyed it :)
