chapt 15

Ah yes writers block has started ahaha hope you enjoy even if it's a shitty chapter

"So how's work?" Sage asks looking back down on her desk. I sit up slightly and shrug "it's good, the kids are so smart and then there's the coffee shop" I answer.

She nods then yawns "are you still assistant manager?" She asks. "Yeah but I only work weekends or nights, I'm just thankful that claire is so understanding" I answer.

We talk for a couple more hours before she goes to sleep. It's been a week since shawn showed up, the feelings that I had for him are completely gone.

Claire knocks on my door peeking her head in "you guys done video chatting?" She asks. I nod "yeah, you headed out soon?" I ask. She nods "yeah Joseph still can't walk so I'm going over there to help him out" she says.

I nod "alrighty I'm going to get ready and go in, just give Harrison the night off" I say. She nods "okay that's fine he needs it anyway" she says.

A couple days ago joseph broke his foot and so claire is helping him out, I'm glad she's found someone and they're happy.

While I'm getting ready I put my playlist on shuffle and a song by CORPSE starts playing. It's his only song on spotify so far but I'm hoping he'll release more this year.

Harrison messages me to let me know the new guy we hired is here tonight so I won't be alone. I haven't had the chance to meet him so this should be interesting.

Once I've had something quick to eat and a cup of coffee I drive over to the shop. Harrisons face lights up when he sees me walk through, I look around and see a tall, bleach blonde haired, tattooed covered guy at the back sweeping.

"Thank you for coming in kai" harrison says once I'm fully inside. "Of course, I'm not doing anything tonight and I'm guessing you've made plans so I'm here" I say. He grabs his things and then looks over at the new guy who is still sweeping.

He looks up then quickly looks back down at the dust pile in front of his feet. "Ayo eli this is kai one of your other assistant managers, she's been working here just as long as I have so listen to her and maybe take note she make amazing coffees" Harrison tells him.

I smile "go home stop hyping me up" I tell him. He laughs as he walks out the door and I roll my eyes while laughing. "Its nice to meet you kai" eli says sweeping the pile closer gathering more dirt.

"So how much have they trained you?" I ask him. "A fair bit this is the second coffee shop I've worked at" he says. I nod "okay good, how long have you been here?" I ask. "A few weeks" he says.

We talk in between customers coming in and leaving or sitting at one of the tables. He's 23, went to art school and commissions paintings and sculptures and he's oddly tall but that might just be because I'm 5ft 4 and he's a full foot taller.

An hour before closing we clean up and wait for the last few customers to come in and then they leave. We finish up and I lock up after I've made sure everything is clean. He stands outside smoking a cigarette and looking around.

"Uh I'll be working in a couple days I'm not sure what your schedule is but I'm sure I'll see you around" I say. He nods and flicks the cigarette butt away. "Yeah I'll see you around it was nice meeting you" he replies.

I go over to my car and notice it's the only one in the parking lot. The buses aren't running and he didn't mention a partner or parents. "Hey uh do you need a ride home?" I ask him. "Oh uh sure" he says jogging over.

He gets in and gives me directions then I turn the music on. It goes from taylor to machine gun Kelly to harry styles in a span of fifteen minutes. "Your music taste is interesting" he comments.

After an intense conversation about our music tastes and a bit of a drive I drop him off outside of an apartment building. He waves goodbye and I drive off.

When I get home I fall asleep after talking to sage for a bit. Claire was still at josephs when I got home and I'm assuming she was staying the night.

The next few days go by quick and I end up having to take a shift over to claire because she ended up getting food poisoning from taco bell her and Joseph had. Eli is there again so we just talk and I train him some more.

Harrison comes in with his partner to get a coffee, they don't stay long but he says he'll come in tomorrow if claire is still sick.

Near the end of the night eli and I are cleaning up and talking. "So you're single?" He asks. I nod "yea, its sorta complicated" I answer. He nods "how complicated?" He asks. I shrug "I'm talking to someone across the world from me but she doesn't want to long distance" I answer.

He looks at me shocked "really?" He asks. I nod "yeah its rough" I reply. Not very many people come in tonight so we close up and I drive him home again. He's actually pretty cool and he's told me about all of his tattoos and if they've got stories to them.

My mind wonders in my sleep yet again.
