Chapt 26

While I'm getting ready for work I get a notification from sage. A selfie. She just got her second dose which means we're only closer to her coming to visit. Hopefully by summer she'll be here.

I got my second dose last week and both claire and joseph also have both doses. Thankfully the cases have died down a ton since the vaccine came out and the president predicts by may the border will be open to vaccinated people that is the only thing giving me hope in seeing the love of my life.

Claire comes in yawning with her hair in a messy bun "is there coffee?" She asks. "Do sharks swim in the ocean?" I ask. She rolls her eyes and pours herself some coffee before plopping down and taking a sip. I finish what I'm doing before going off to work for the day.

Sage and I message through out the day and then she messages me telling me she's going to bed early since her arm is really sore and she's really tired. The only thing the vaccines did to me was make me tired and my arm sore. I grab some Wendy's on my way home and pig out on it on the couch in my pjs.

The final exams are coming up in a month  so I have a lot of homework to mark this coming weekend which is fine I actually like marking their work. I relax for the rest of the night and end up going to bed early so I can be at the school early.

*Sage's point of view*

After having to wait weeks I finally have my second dose, I have to wait another 2 weeks until I can leave the country to visit kai. A few months ago I filed the paperwork for a month long visitors Visa in Hope's I'll be able to travel.

The second dose kicks my ass but I don't let it stop me from working so I have the extra money for when I'm in california. While I'm at work kai messages me good morning causing the biggest smile to appear on my face.

"Sage put your phone away" my coworker whispers. "Sorry my girlfriend messaged me" I say. "How are you two holding up?" He asks. "Good, the distance can be a bit much sometimes but I think once I visit it'll be easier" i answer sliding my phone into my back pocket.

The day goes by and once I'm home I rest on the couch eventually falling asleep in my bed feeling like there's something or someone missing beside me. I haven't even met her and I miss her.

As the next few days go by the two of us watch the news for when people can enter the states, the same exact day I can leave the country and 2 weeks after my second dose. Meaning in 8 or 9 days I can travel to see kai.

I know that she'll be working when I'd be arriving so instead of having her stress about me getting here and having to quarantine without telling her i book a flight there and it automatically books me a hotel to quarantine in for two weeks.

"She won't see it coming" I tell myself. I really want to be able to pull this off without making her suspicious so I find her roommates Instagram.
