Chapt 36

Only 9 chapters left! This ones short!

During the next week I stay with claire and Joseph and I go to work, theres only a couple more weeks left of the school year and that's when i will be looking for a new apartment even more since I'll have the time to move.

Shawn showed up at the school after the bell had rung one day and convinced me to talk to him. He realized that he shouldn't have done what he did and we spent the evening together and nothing happened.

I still haven't talked to sage and she hasn't reached out so I'm just going to wait until she does or we are forced together. He knows I love sage and won't make a move again.

Claire and I are currently starting to process of wedding planning, a few days ago she asked me to be her maid of honour and I of course said yes.

"So where do you see it being?" I asked. She lists off a few places and then we narrow it down before moving onto dresses. We find a few bridal shops around San Diego to go to then she books a few appointments at different ones so she can find her dress early.

They're aiming for next June and I'm so looking forward to it. We finish up for the day and then she looks over at me "are you doing okay? It's been a week" she asks. I look at my hands "I haven't cried today" I say.

She frowns "did you cry yesterday?" She asks. I nod and remember why. Bobby wouldnt cuddle. I know I'm dramatic. "Yup" I whisper. "You need to talk to her dude" she says. "I'm giving her time and if that's a week, 2 weeks maybe even 3 then that's fine" I say.

"You can't just wait until she messages you kai" she says. I shrug "it's what I'm doing" I say. She sighs giving up and putting on greys anatomy.

"So you're just gonna still be in love with her and not message her?" Shawn asks me. "So? If she doesn't want to talk to me or be together then that's fine I'm just going to be here and wait" I say.

He shakes his head taking the next shot "kai come on i know you and this isnt you" he says. I shrug taking mine down "oh well" I say. "You need help" he rolls his eyes.

We finish drinking and just walk back to the apartment. He stops at the door "I'm not coming in I'm stopping myself" he says drunkingly. I nod "okay, I'll see you whenever" I say before going in.

The weekend goes by and i get back to work. The students continue to brighten my day so I don't have to be sad at my work place as well.

Sadly this week goes by quickly and claire has an appointment for dress try ons and cake tasting which is one of the 5 things Joseph is helping with. We go for breakfast and meet her mom at the bridal shop.

After being brought to the back we look around and find dresses that we like for her and we wait as she goes to put on the first dress. "How exciting is this?" Her mom asks. I smile "very" I say.

"I'm happy she found someone so great" she says. "Yeah he's amazing, I'm happy for her as well" I say. She comes out and we look at her, it's a beautiful dress but it doesn't suit her enough.

The three of us agree its not the one and it takes us a few hours to find a couple contenders and she tries them both on a few times. "Can I sleep on it? I still don't know" she asks. The lady that has been helping her nods "yeah of course, just come in when you have a choice" she answers.

After she changes back into her regular clothes we go get a snack and drive around for a little bit. "Hows work?" She asks turning down the song. "Good, the school year is done next week and I'm telling the kids monday" I answer.

"Oh wow, how do you think they'll take it?" She asks. I shrug "they'll probably be upset but I'll explain that teachers change schools all of the time and we might meet again in the future if I switch grades" I say.

She nods and looks over at me during the red light "that's a good explanation, how do you feel about moving schools?" She asks. "It happens" I answer.

We go back to the apartment and just stay the night in with a bunch of junk food and wine. Joseph even joins in on the face masks and wine. She truely found a gem in a pile of rubble. "So am I as your maid of honour required to bring a date to the wedding?" I ask her.

Joseph raises his eyebrows as he pops a piece of popcorn into his mouth. "What?" She asks. "Well with where my life is right now I'm not sure if I'll have a date" I answer. She rubs her forehead and sighs "kai you need to fix shit with sage because I know damn well that you love her more than living and bobby misses his other mom" she tells me.

I sigh and look down "I dont know" I whisper. She groans "come on! We both know it, she knows it" she says. "I know it" Joseph adds. "Fine I'll think it through" I tell them.

They nod and leave me alone for the rest of the night. The weekend goes by and Monday comes along. Its the day i have to tell them I'm not coming back to teach next year. I found a school and an apartment close to it, just haven't told claire about it.

While I'm waiting for the kids to come in I put something at each of their spots personal to them and then I write what we are doing for the week on the white board.

As I turn around I hear them outside and open the door welcoming them in. "Just sit quietly for a couple minutes" I say. This is my first class of the day, each student I teach will be getting one today.

"What's going on miss kai?" One of them asks. "so I just wanted to let you all know that this school year was my last year here" I say.

They all gasp and I hear a few voices say different things they all look disappointed. "So seeing as this is the last week I thought I'd treat you to a week of no home work since you did the exams last week and movies!" I say. They all cheer and I calm them down.

A few hours go by and it's now the last class. A few of the students have tears in their eyes when I told them, they came and gave me hugs and I told them they might see me in the future if i choose to teach a higher grade. "So each class gets a movie heres a list! Please write your vote on a paper and bring it to this bowl" I say.

One by one they come and vote and then I read them out at the same time. They chose spiderman homecoming. Smart kids.

I put it on and sit back until the bell rings. They hug me before leaving and I assure them we'll finish it tomorrow. I leave shortly after making sure they are all gone.

After getting back to the apartment I realize my phone had gone off while I was driving. 4 missed calls from sage. And a few texts asking to talk.

Sage: please I miss you can we talk
