The slam of a door wakes me up causing me to jump and my heart rate to jump. "What the fuck" I whisper. My alarm beeps annoyingly a few minutes later.

I check my schedule, it's saturday so I'm working all day. It's been a few days since Jacob and sage broke up, he's still hurt that she cheated but has still told me to get to know her more.

We voice chat while I'm getting ready for work since he's bored studying for his classes. "Why would you be fine with it?" I ask.

"Well you see, we were growing apart and like I said before I was getting detached a few months ago" he explains. I sigh "I just don't want it getting weird if we do get together in any way, like I value our friendship" I say.

He sighs slightly "yeah I get that, are you sure she's not your type?" He asks. I laugh "yeah I'm sure, I actually don't know what my type is" I reply.

We finish talking right after I finish getting ready for work, I put my hair half up half down with the top half in a messy bun and my bangs out.

My moms already gone to work so I leave a note and head to work. I put my playlist on and Taylor swift immediately starts playing, I start blasting it and singing.

Right as come back be here ends I get a dm from sage but on discord.

I swipe it away continuing my drive to work. When I get there Claire's already opened it again and a small rush comes through a few minutes after I get situated.

While it's quiet we talk about what's going on in our lives. She just moved out of the apartment she shared with her ex boyfriend. "I'm looking for a room mate but it's so hard without them being a weirdo" she says.

"Wait, would you want to move in?" She asks. "Really? You wouldnt get sick of me?" I ask. She laughs "not at all kai" she says. "I'll think about it" I let her know.

I know my mom wouldn't struggle without me but I still worry sometimes. "If you're worried about your mom don't be, she has a full time job and she owns the house so she wouldnt be homeless if you moved out, take a chance kai" she encourages me.

"Give me a day to sleep on it" I tell her. "Of course, if you do choose to don't worry about the first couple months of rent" she says. I nod and the bell above the door signals somebody coming in.

The guy from the other day stands in front staring at the menu. "I'm trying to try everything from the menu, what do you recommend?" He asks. "Uh iced or hot?" I ask. "Iced, its warm out today" he says.

I nod and make him a hazelnut and caramel cold brew with a cold foam. I slide it over to him when it's done and he stabs the straw in the top before taking a sip.

His ocean blue eyes light up before he smiles "that's good, thank you kai" he says. I nod with a smile "of course, uh $2.50" I say. He hands me a bill "keep the change" he says.

It's a 10. He walks out after without a word. "Do we know his name?" I ask claire. She shakes her head "nope but his eyes are nice" she comments. I laugh nodding in agreement.

My phone does off again and I take a quick glance. Sage. Again. "Who is it?" Claire asks. I sigh "so my friend Jacob broke up with his girlfriend and now he's trying to convince me to date her but she's in the uk" I explain.

She nods seeming interested "okay? And why is he doing that?" She asks. I shrug "I have no idea honestly but she asked to talk after work" I answer. "Are you going to?" She asks.

"I uh I don't know" I shrug. "What does she look like?" Claire asks. I pull up a selfie sage posted on Instagram a couple days ago showing it to her. "Oh wow she's pretty" she says.

The more I look at it the more I seem to agree. "Uh yeah she is" I whisper. "Go for it" claire encourages. I shrug "I still feel weird because a friend dated her I don't want it to be ruined yknow" I reply.

She gives me some advice and then we go back to working. By time our shift ends the sun is down. "Text me when you're home so I know you're safe" she tells me before we get into our separate cars.

My drive home consists of singing very loudly, dodging texts from sage and picking up food for my mom and I. I text her once I'm home and comfortable on the couch.

While my moms watching her show I message with jacob. He's still friends with sage and they're being civil on the timeline. He yet again tells me to talk to her so I finally check her messages.

She said she regrets cheating on him and she plans on never cheating again. "How was work?" My mom asks pulling my attention away from my phone.

"Good! Uh claire asked me if I would like to move into her spare room" I reply. "Oh? Were you thinking about it?" She asks. I shrug "kinda yeah" I answer. She nods "I get it if you did I'm here if you need help" she says.

I nod and go back to figuring out a reply to sage.

My eyes widen and my mind doesn't know where to go so I reply with the classic 'really?' Before putting my phone down and trying to get into whatever my moms watching.

I start yawning so I grab my stuff going off to my room after saying good night to my mom and texting my sister. She's probably staying at her boyfriends again.

Sage stayed up later than she usually does just to say good night to me. I close my eyes right after seeing that she said she was going to sleep as well.

My mind decided to mess with me while I'm sleeping causing everything to be confusing.
