Chapt 25

Chapter 25 lets go! I'm aiming for 40 chapters so I will try to make it as entertaining as possible uh enjoy and give me your thoughts

I stand at the apartment door wearing my mask and looking at my mom and sister. They've both been safe throughout this and we haven't gotten the chance to see each other in person.

"You look good kai" my mom comments. I smile "thank you mama, how are you two doing?" I ask them. They look at each other before looking at me "good" they answer.

We stand there talking for a few minutes before they leave. They wanted to drop off some extra groceries they had and christmas presents. My mom tells me she'll text me when they're home before leaving.

Claire's at work again so it's just me, my phone buzzes in my hand and I look at it instantly smiling. Sage is off work. I wait for her in discord while making popcorn.

Since both the us and UK are not letting anyone leave or come in we have resorted to watching movies in discord as dates until she can come here or I can go there. "How long has it been?" She asks me.

I sigh trying my best to do the math and realizing that it's almost been a year since the virus was discovered. "Almost a year since it was discovered, about 9 or 10 months since we had to start quarantineing and wearing masks everywhere" I reply.

Through this whole thing I've been teaching on line and have yet to see my students in person since the new school year started and it's the end of december. We're hoping by after spring break to be in classes again.

"That means we've been together for that long" she says. I look at her and she's looking at me smiling "you're right" I reply. She blows me a kiss and I smile catching it and blowing it back making her giggle. "I love you" she says. I smile happily "I love you too" I reply.

We watch the movie and then just talk and discuss the movie for a few hours before she goes to sleep and claire comes home shortly after we're done videochatting. Joseph's working late so she brought pizza home.

At about noon on december 31st sage messages me to hop in discord. It's just a few hours from midnight for her so we watch a movie and then a few episodes of our show and it slowly approaches midnight.

While it hit 4pm here it hits midnight and her face lights up "happy new year!" She cheers. "Happy new year" I reply. She smiles excitedly "ok I have my alarm set for 7am so that I can be up for when it turns midnight there" she says.

"You're so sweet okay go to sleep babe" I tell her. She blows me a kiss before leaving and I let her sleep. I put the show on and finish up the work I had to mark over the break. I didn't give them homework for winter break but they all turned in homework so I'm marking it since I'm bored.

Claire and Joseph come back from their afternoon jog and go straight to the bathroom to shower. I end up making us some chicken, rice and vegetables while they're cleaning themselves.

After we eat and watch a movie they end up ordering a bunch of finger foods from a sport bar down the street just so we have snack foods for the countdown. I tell them about sage joining us via videochat.

The time she says she'd be awake comes up and she messages me a couple minutes later. I wait for her in discord again and she pops up looking tired. "Hi love how's the future?" I ask. She giggles "good but it'll be better with you in it" she says.

I try my best not to blush and they look over at me with smiles on their faces. "That's smooth, claire and joseph are here too and we've got an assortment of finger foods" I say. She sits up slightly "is there mozzarella sticks?" She asks.
