“JAVIER!” Kristina screams as she sees a bloody faced Malcolm punch Javier in the back of his neck knocking him out.
“Okay now I’m pissed,” he says angrily as he walks over to Kristina as he grabs her by her neck holding her up in against the wall, “I’m supposed to trust you, but you hit me with a vase to get to him?” he says hoarsely squeezing her neck harder as blood streams down his face from the vase she hit him with. Kristina can’t speak let alone breathe, she tries to move his hands but it’s no use he doesn’t move. Suddenly he loosens his grip and leans in toward her ear, “Since you’re so tough now let’s see how tough you are in my bed.” he whispers in her ear with his deep voice sending shivers down her spine.
Before Kristina could catch her breath to say anything, she sees Javier punch Malcolm in his jaw sending him flying into the glass coffee table breaking it as he falls in a cushion of glass. Malcolm gets up and sends two blows to Javier ribs as Javier body clenches in pain, Kristina screams at the sight as her vision blurs while Malcolm gives Javier four more blows to the chest knocking him into the bar. Javier stumbles back but rushes in and uppercuts Malcolm sending his chin up causing Malcolm to stumble back but he immediately catches his balance then rushes towards Javier swinging at him. Javier dodges the swing but before he can move, Malcolm quickly swings at him with his other arm, catching Javier off guard, causing him to stumble. Malcolm immediately puts Javier in a headlock, punching him repeatedly in the face.
Kristina screams for them to stop but there is no use as Malcolm continues to beat on Javier, “SHUT UP!” Malcolm screams at Kristina dropping Javier to the ground as he walks over to her and quickly wraps his bloody hand around her neck, “I hope you scream just as loud in my bed,” he smiles cynically at her then suddenly he is knocked on the floor. Javier head butted him from behind knocking him down, and now he stands over him repeatedly punching him in the face with enormous blows not giving Malcolm the chance to breathe then suddenly Javier picks up a shard of glass from a broken vase as he aims it towards Malcolm’s beaten face. “JAVIER DON’T!” Kristina screams as four police officers and six security guards rush into the room pulling Javier away from Malcolm and she watches him quickly drop the glass on the floor.
“Mam’ are you okay?” one of the officers asks her but she doesn’t respond, how can she? “We were told there was a disturbance here,” he gets no answer, “Mam’ we are only here to help, just talk to us.”
“I just want to go home.” she answers quietly. As she is being questioned they call someone in to tend to the bruise in the back of her head. She doesn’t tell the officer all the details of what happened in the room with Malcolm all she tells them is he tried to rape her and her friend came in right before he did. After almost an hour of questioning, they let her go back to Javier. She ran over to him in the corner, she sees his battered bloody face and it breaks her heart. She notices he’s wearing a wrinkled dark green suit with a white down shirt that has trails of blood on it as the officers took the cuffs off his wrists; she jumps on him as he holds her tight.
"Mam' do you want us to get an ambulance?" one of the officers akss to her.
"No, sir." she answers.
"You sure?" Javier asks her.
"I'm sure."
“Mam’ are you going to press charges?” the officer asks to her.
“She is.” Javier answers for her as he continues to hold her up.
“No!” she shouts, “If I do my parents will find out and they’ll never let me go anywhere.”
“Kristina, you have to tell them.” Javier says calmly.
“No, I don’t want anybody to find out.”
“Well his lawyer will be arriving here shortly after we bring him in, you can talk to her about the arrangements of what you want to do.” the officer interjects.
Kristina nods her head, “Can you give her my number because I want to leave this room I can’t stay here any longer.” she says to the officer as he nods his head in agreement. She walks over to the other side of the room where she had seen her shoes. She sees them and picks them up then walks over to Javier standing by the door of the suite.
“Can you walk?” he asks her, he watches her nod her head ‘Yes’. Then he bends down and picks her up.
“I told you I can walk. You can put me down, you’re hurt.” she says to him looking at his swollen face, puffy eyes and the dried blood around his nose but he doesn’t answer he just continues to walk down the hall with her in his arms and she doesn’t argue. “What time is it?” she asks him.
Javier looks at his watch, “9:43.”
It’s only 9? It feels much later than that, feels like I been here for days, Kristina buries her head deeper into Javier’s chest holding on to him like a child to a parent as they walked towards the elevator. They got on and got off on the 6th floor as they walked to their room, “Please don’t tell Sarah what happened.” she says quietly, right before he opens the door.
He opens the door and there is no sign of Sarah anywhere, She’s probably still at the ball, “I won’t.” he says as walks towards one of the bed and lays her on there as he sits on the edge of the bed with his head in his hands.
Kristina sits up and wraps her arms around his back, hugging him from behind, “Thank you so much.” she says as the tears escape from her eyes as she squeezes him tighter.
Javier doesn’t answer he just sighs, “You should change your clothes and go to bed.” he says dryly as he gets up from the bed, breaking from her embrace.
“Okay.” she says sadly as she gets up and walks over to her suitcase for a change of clothes, she looks up to see if he’s still standing there but he already made his way to the living room. She sighs as she sees the bruises on her arms and legs. Her eyes start to tear up again as she hears Javier phone ring from a distance and she hears him answer it. She realizes she doesn’t have the strength to change so she closes her suitcase and crawls into the bed, wrapping the sheets around her as she sees Javier appear at the foot of the bed. She lifts her head up, “I know you’re mad at me but can you stay here, please?”
Javier runs his hand through his short hair and breathes out, “Levi’s been in an accident, we have to go.”
