"ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW!" Kristina shouts through the phone at Javier.
"Kristina calm down it wasn't that big of a deal." Javier says in a cool manner trying to calm her down.
"IT IS!" she shouts as the anger only builds, "You're telling me that they are going to pull the plug on Levi and instead of trying to find a way of stopping it or praying him you guys throw a damn party!" she yells trying to keep her calm but that went out the window when Javier called her to let her know that she missed a party for Levi.
"And what drown ourselves in tears?" Javier says raising his voice trying to fight her anger.
"Well mourning would have at least been the sensible HUMAN thing to do!" she shouts back, over powering whatever stand he tried to make. "You know what. I gotta go to church, talk to you later." she says as she hangs up the phone without giving him the chance to say bye. She quickly dials Mateo number and waits for him to pick up as it rings.
Mateo picks up the phone while sitting at his desk in his home, "Kristina, how are-"
"Don't 'How are you' me! What possessed you to throw a party last night in the so call honor of Levi?" she shouts as the anger builds up again.
"It was a small celebration of his life." he responds calmly.
"That's the thing, his life is far from over so you to celebrate his life instead of trying to find a way to stop his Euphemism shows how much care you really have for him." she shouts.
"Don't you dare tell me I do not care for him!" Mateo shouts as his voice booms over the phone, "I talked to the doctor and there is absolutely nothing I can do!"
"You talked to one doctor and gave up? If you really wanted him to live you would talk to every single person in that damn hospital from the President of the hospital to the damn janitor!" she yells as the anger seeps through her pores, "But fuck Levi, let's throw a damn party to celebrate his life that is NOT YET OVER!"
Mateo is thrown off by her usually bluntness and realizes that she is right, "Kristina I-"
"I don't want to hear anything from you right now. If you really see Levi as your son then as a father you should stop at nothing to make sure his life is well lived! And it wasn't! You gave up so easily on him! You and the rest of your family have always done so countless times! And even if you felt like there was nothing to do. Celebrating his death with drinks and food would help at nothing to actually bring him back! The least you could've done is get together and prayed for him!" she shouts without realizing there are tears falling from her eyes. "You should've known better." she says softly as she hangs up the phone on him.
Mateo puts his phone down on his office desk, She's beyond right. I really didn't try hard enough. I just came home to cry like a little bitch. Mateo sits in his thoughts for a while.
"What's good playboy?" Marcus says as he walks into his father's office, combing his thick beard with a small comb, "Looks like you're thinking heavy over there." he says as he walks over to sit in a chair next to the desk.
