3rd POV
HINDI mapakali si Deuce while driving his car. Thea's Nurse called him to informed him that she is finally awake!
It's been six months. He's excited to see her again.
He was annoyed because his investor meetings actually coincided with the site when Thea woke up. He wants Thea to see him first when she wakes up. But looked what happened right now, he was not beside her when she woke up.
"Thea. . ." It's almost a whisper. His heart is pounding too fast.
Parang hindi siya makapaniwala na gising na ito. Tanya was sitting on the edge of her bed while Granny was on the chair sitting beside her.
Tumayo si Granny para hayaang makalapit si Deuce sa kanyang apo. Tanya did the same.
She glanced at him. Pero agad ding nag-iwas nang tingin si Thea kay Deuce. Napansin niya ang malamlam na mata ni Thea.
"G-usto ko nang magpahinga, please."
"Ate?"
"P-lease, inaantok na ako."
Suddenly he stopped approaching her when she spoke without reaction, her voice was cold and she didn't seem to want to be seen.
The excitement on his face, slowly disappeared. He looked puzzled by her reaction. What happened? May kailangan ba siyang malaman?
Tumingin sa kanya si Tanya at nag-sorry. Tinanguan lang ito ni Deuce na naiintindihan niya.
Inalalayan ni Tanya ang kanyang kapatid na maayos itong makahiga.
Hinila ni Dave si Deuce palabas ng kwarto ni Thea. His eyes are still glued on Thea.
His eyebrows furrowed.
"What happened Dave?"
"You can asked her Doctor." Agad na sagot ni Dave base sa itsura niya na naguguluhan.
Hindi siya nagdalawang isip at pinuntahan ang Doctor ni Thea.
"She can still walk pero matatagalan iyon Deuce. It's a long process before she'll be able to walk again. She will need your full support and patience on her while she's having a therapy."
He heavily sighed after he heard what the Doctor said to him. This break his heart into pieces. Now he understand her cold treatment on him.
Bumalik muli si Deuce sa silid ni Thea. Nakatulog na ito. Matagal niya itong hinintay tapos ganito ang mangyayari.
"Kuya Deuce, ayos ka lang?" tanong ni Tanya sa kanya habang nanlulumo siyang nakatingin kay Thea.
Lahat ng excitement niya ay napalitan nang lungkot. Kaya ba hindi masaya si Thea na makita siya?
He nodded. He sat on the edge of Thea's bed and held her hand. Masuyo niya iyong hinalikan.
"I'm s-orry Kuya sa inasal ni Ate kanina. Hindi niya matanggap ang nangyari. Sinisisi niya rin ang sarili niya kung bakit nangyari 'yong aksidente."
He felt even heavier by what he heard. Sana naro'n siya kanina pagkagising ni Thea.
ARAW-ARAW ay gano'n ang eksena sa hospital tuwing naro'n si Deuce. Doon na nga siya tumira halos no'ng wala pa'ng malay si Thea pero dahil sa reaksyon nito na parang ayaw siyang makita ay napilitan siyang umuwi na lamang sa bahay at bumibisita na lamang doon.
"Ayoko," malamig na saad ni Thea nang inaabot ni Deuce ang prutas sa kanya para kainin.
"Hindi ka pa kumakain love-"
