Three years later. October 2002. Location Unknown. Paris, FR.
-Faster, ladies, faster! We don't have all day.- One of the instructors' voices was heard in the distance as the girls were shooting at moving targets in the shooting range.
Changing her magazine to a new one, Sophia started shooting once again at the targets. They were moving and she needed to move too. She felt so familiar with the gun now, that it felt like they were one. Like it was a part of herself.
Rolling on the floor, she hid behind a rock and waited for the path to be clear. Once she was ready, she jumped out of her hiding spot and shot once again at her target. She started running towards another and before this one moved, she had already shot it at least three times.
The alarm rang and time was up. The practice was over and they started to make their way to their next class, which was ballet.
The first time Sophia took that class, she didn't fully understand why it was important for their training. She took classes before she came to Daylight and she loved them, but it was confusing to her why spies and agents would need to practice it. With the passing of time she understood that it was because it gave them balance, and besides all the spy stuff that it heightened, it gave them more flexibility for fighting maneuvers and movements and the most important, it made them constant and disciplined.
When she arrived at her class, she was already chosen to demonstrate alongside two other agents a fight of two against one with her, being the solo and the others in duo.
The fight was not hard, given the fact that, for the past three years, they had learned how to take down a group of people at the same time and remain undefeated. Not unharmed, because that was nearly impossible, but coming out of a fight alive after confronting at least 6 people or more was an achievement.
Once the combat was over, the girls shook hands with Sophia and she returned the gesture with a small nod and a smile, just like them. They knew there was no bad blood between them and that nothing was personal. They knew it was part of the job to be against each other sometimes.
The ceremony was the next day, and Sophia felt like she was ready. These months had been tough and way more exhausting than she ever thought. They had finally let them outside on a small mission a couple of months before, and as nervous and terrified Sophia was, she had managed to do amazing.
*FLASHBACK*
They had been asked by Pierre's and Antoine's organization, the I.I.S.A to be part of a small mission about taking down a small mop group that was going to sell a few guns to another small group. Nothing big or scandalous, just two small groups that wanted to rule the streets but couldn't, due to inexperience and lack of means to do it.
Amateurs, basically.
-Suit up, ladies. This is going to be small but meaningful. It's your first time in the field and there's no room for mistakes. You understand?.- Pierre said while getting his bulletproof vest attached to his torso. He was going on part of the I.I.S.A as the leader of the mission and the girls were going as Daylight's special secret task force.
-Yes, sir.- They all said in unison. The only ones coming were the ones that were level 4. The eight girls who were chosen 3 years ago, were going to prove themselves today in this mission. And by being the 8 best in the academy, they couldn't fail.
They arrived at an abandoned warehouse almost at the limits of the city.
-Remember, you need to go in without being detected, take them down and get out undetected again.- Pierre said before opening the van's door to go out. They had parked at least a kilometer out so they wouldn't be seen.
