June 2010. 16:25. Malibu, Los Angeles. CA.
Third Person POV.
Sophia was walking down the stairs to the shop when she saw Coulson walking up.
-Hey, Phil.- Sophia said with a smile and the agent smiled back at her, like he always did.
-Hey, Sophie.- He replied and Sophia furrowed her eyebrows at the man leaving. Wasn't he supposed to be here and keep an eye on Tony? Then, she remembered he had a mission.
-So, you're leaving for your new assignment, huh?.- Sophia said as she leaned on the wall beside her and Phil nodded.
-That's right. Fury reassigned me and I'm on my way there.- Phil answered and Sophia nodded.
It had been quite some time now since Phil and Sophia spent some quality time together and they missed it. Phil was like another father to Sophia and she missed him terribly, but both of them knew it was part of the job.
-Well, hopefully when you're done there and my uncle lets you, we can share some father-daughter time.- Sophia joked but Coulson knew she was being serious. He smiled back at the young woman and nodded.
-I'd love that.- He said with his unique smile and Sophia smiled back.
Sophia didn't hesitate and took a step closer, wrapping her arms around the agent. This one, returning the hug with a smile on his face.
Over the years, Sophia and Coulson had created a special and close bond. At first, it was just like Coulson was a mentor to Sophia, but then, as they got closer, their bond went from mentor and apprentice, to a father-daughter bond.
Coulson never had any kids and Sophia had her father away at the time, so he acted like her own. After Antoine passed away, Coulson took it upon himself to be like a father figure to the girl. He knew he would never be able to replace Antoine, but he could make sure to keep an eye on her, take care of her and help her in anything she needed.
After the agent and Sophia said goodbye one last time, she went to her brother.
As she got inside the shop, she saw him balancing a massive tube on a circular piece of metal she couldn't really identify.
Previously, she had seen the holes in the floor and in the house walls, including now the huge and massive hole that decorated the east wall of the room.
-I leave you for a day and a half, and you already managed to make more holes in the house than the ones that had been previously made.- Sophia said as she walked to stand beside Tony.
-Yeah, well. What can I say? I was bored.- Tony said as he placed a pair of glasses and walked to the other side of the room.
Sophia watched as he took some sort of tool and a piece of metal of some sorts. She furrowed her eyebrows as she looked at him intently.
-What are we doing?.- She asked Tony.
He had asked her to come and help him synthesize the new element, and she had in her mind a million ways that could've happened. This was not one of them.
-We, Star, are about to create history. Again.- Tony said as he took another pair of glasses. He walked towards Sophia and handed them to her. After that, he placed the metal thingy on the huge cylinder.
After moving, turning on and off stuff and doing God knows what else, Sophia and Tony had finally assembled what was supposed to be the machine to create the new element Tony had discovered.
Sophia moved back a little as she watched Tony stand in front of the thing he needed to adjust.
-Initializing prismatic accelerator.- Jarvis said and Sophia looked at her brother as the machine started whirring.
