April, 2010. 09:34. United States Capitol. Washington, DC.

Third Person POV

As Sophia parked outside the Capitol building, she sighed.

It had been a long time since she was in Washington and this is not how she expected her visit to go, at all.

After she found out yesterday that she was coming here, she hadn't said anything to Tony. He called her a few minutes later, telling her he had been cited and that he needed to go to Washington. More like, he was already on his way with Happy. They took off yesterday after the Expo.

He also asked her to go with him and accompany Pepper, so they could meet them there in the morning before his audience. Pepper was taking the jet to Washington, but Sophia told him she had some business to attend to and she wouldn't be able to go with him.

Oh if only he knew.

Nick had supplied her with transportation that same night, and she arrived a little earlier than Tony. She stayed at one of S.H.I.E.L.D's safe houses and then woke up early to come here. She was running a little late, but she hoped they hadn't called her already.

After a few more minutes reflecting on what she was going to do, she took a deep breath, looked at herself in the rearview mirror one last time, and then proceeded to open the car door. She stepped out and when she closed the door, she took a look at her outfit in the reflection of the car.

She was wearing black high-waisted dress pants, a loose beige blouse with long sleeves and a loose bow tie, and a black blazer on top, with black pointed high heels. Her hair was in a ponytail and for make-up she was wearing just mascara and nude lipstick.

With one last glance, she fixed her blazer and started to walk towards the entrance. Her nerves quickly started to fade away as she got closer to the reception.

As she reached the door, she walked through a metal detector. As she passed, a guard approached her.

-Miss, I'm going to have to ask you to stop right there.- The guard said and Sophia lifted an eyebrow.

-Why?.- She asked as she looked at the man. She had followed every protocol and she was being retained?

-Miss, you need to step back. We detected something on you.- The guard said and Sophia laughed cynically. She shook her head and turned to look at the guard and bit the inside of her cheek.

Walking back to the detector it sounded again.

-Miss, I'm going to have to search you.- The guard said and Sophia rolled her eyes.

-No, you don't have to. I don't have anything metal on me. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go, I have a hearing.- Sophia said and as she started to walk away, the guard grabbed her by the wrist

She stopped dead on her tracks and turned around. She couldn't confront the man right there, because she'd get in trouble and she was there to see her brother's audience, not end up in the United States Government Blacklist.

-If you appreciate all of your limbs, you'll get your hands off of me.- Sophia said between gritted teeth and throwing a menacing look at the guard.

The guard was at least 6 feet tall, and Sophia was barely 5'4, but that didn't stop her from trying to intimidate the man, because she sure as hell was not scared of him. He looked at her defiantly and she just held his gaze.

-Let me go, now.- She said but the man held back. She hated to use the move she was about to do, but it seemed right to do it, especially when she was in a rush. -Do you know who I am?.- She asked and the man looked at her.
