April 2010, 09:50. S.H.I.E.L.D HQ's, Silver Lake, Los Angeles. CA.

Third Person POV.

-I need an explanation on why my niece appears in the papers calling the Senator "stupid" and why he said to you "Fuck you" in return.- Nick said as he slammed the newspaper on the table, making Sophia and Michael flinch a little.

Sophia unfolded the paper and looked at it. As she read the article a little smile appeared on her face. Michael looked over her shoulder and snorted.

-You know? You've been taking the uncle role more seriously in the last few days.- Sophia said as she gave the paper to Michael so he could read properly.

Nick just looked at her with dead eyes (eye) and sat down in front of her.

-It's because I am.- Nick said sternly and Sophia looked at him with lifted eyebrows.

-That's new. Last time I checked you were my boss 361 days a year and just 4 of them my uncle.- Sophia said with a small snort and Nick just looked at her.

-Look. I'm not going to reprimand you, or call you off, that's not like me. You are a 23 year-old woman, you are old enough to make your own decisions and call people whatever you like. I just want to know so I finally have a reason to kill that man. Or take him in.- Nick said sternly as he looked at his niece.

Sophia frowned her mouth and looked at him. She took a deep breath and then sighed. She started to tell the story of what happened at the hearing.

Even though it was in every single news broadcast, some parts were cut and he wanted to know every single detail of it.

-I hate that man. I always did. He is not good news. He never was.- Nick said as he leaned forward on the table and clasped his hands together, shaking his head.

-Why can't we just make something up and take him in? We all know he is in a twisted, risky business, so let's just do it.- Sophia suggested and Michael shook his head.

-No, that wouldn't make us any different or better than them. We need to take him in when the time is right and he fails in something, when he slips. They always do, they always fail.- Michael said and Sophia nodded.

Sophia turned to look at Nick and instantly knew there was something else he wanted to say.

-I'm assuming you didn't just come here to ask me why I was on the papers and called Senator Stern stupid, so, what is it?.- She asked and Nick turned to look at her.

-I have a new assignment for you.- He said looking at Sophia and Michael. The pair turned to look at each other and then back to Nick.

-Okay, bring it in.- Michael said and the three of them started to talk about the new plan.

--------------------------

As Sophia walked into the house, she saw no one was in the living room. When she started to walk to the hallway, she saw the kitchen lights on. Just as she was crossing the door, the smell of lasagna filled her nostrils and she instantly smiled.

Pepper must've bought something for dinner and brought it over, she thought.

But when she crossed the door, she stopped dead in her tracks. The sight almost seemed unrealistic.

Tony was taking out of the oven with heat gloves, a freshly made lasagna. He hadn't seen Sophia yet, because he had his back towards her. Sophia turned to look around the kitchen, searching for the package of the purchased dinner. She couldn't see it. Instead, she saw all the ingredients laying on the counter, a package of meat, tomato sauce, cheese, the pasta, condiments, and a few other things.
