Third Person POV
Sophia was coming back to Tony's place from running some errands with Michael, when she saw a few black vans parked in the driveway.
Well, they're early. She thought as she parked her car behind the others.
As she made her way inside, she heard a few voices coming from what used to be part of the kitchen. Now it was just a huge hole on the side of the house, with no windows and missing walls.
Two figures were sitting down in front of said hole that looked like a window. A few agents on every corner of the place with binoculars and black suits.
Fury likes drama, apparently.
As she got closer, the voices and conversation became clearer.
-He said that you were the only person with the means and knowledge to finish what he started.- Nick's voice echoed through the destroyed room and Sophia decided to stand back a little to listen to what they were talking about.
She assumed Nick was telling Tony something about his dad.
-He said that?.- Tony asked and then hummed. He never believed that his father would ever talk nice about him or say something about him being capable of doing something.
-Are you that guy? Hmm? Are you?.- Nick asked Tony, challengingly. He leaned forward and looked him in the eyes.- 'Cause if you are, then you can solve the riddle of your heart.- Nick said and at this, Sophia thought it was a good idea if she made her presence known.
The sound of heels clicking against the floor made both men turn around to see the girl walking towards them.
-Wow, uncle Nick. Really poetic.- Sophia said as she went to stand beside Tony. She placed her arm around his shoulders and gave it a little squeeze. Tony rested his hand on top of hers, just as the words his sister said were now being processed in his brain.
-I'm sorry, what? Did you just call him "Uncle Nick"?.- Tony asked, shaking his head
Nick turned to look at Sophia and she just shrugged.
-Well, cat's out of the bag now.- Nick said as he took a sip of his drink and Tony turned to look at him and then at Sophia.
-You'll tell me about this later.- He said as he looked up at his sister, who just gave him a smug smirk and nodded. Tony shook his head once again, looking at Nick. -I don't know where you get your information, but uh, he wasn't my biggest fan.- Tony said and Sophia furrowed her eyebrows.
Sophia looked at him and sighed. She had always tried to stop Tony from thinking his dad never liked him or even loved him, because she was sure he did. Yeah, he was cold, and focused mostly on his job and his emotions and way to express feelings were crap, but she was sure, she could bet on everything she had, that her uncle loved Tony.
More than he can realize.
-T, that's not true. We've talked about this- Sophia said as she looked at Tony and he smiled.
-You know it is. I know it is.- Tony said and Nick frowned.
-What do you remember about your dad?.- Nick asked and Tony shrugged.
-He was cold, he was calculating. He never told me he loved me. He never even told me he liked me. So it's a little tough for me to digest when you're telling me he said the whole future was riding on me and he's passing it down. I don't get that.- He said, frustration and disbelief flowing from his words. -You're talking about a guy who's happiest day was when he shipped me off to boarding school. Hell, even uncle Toine treated me more like a son than my own father. In fact he was more my father than the real one.- Tony said and at the mention of her father, Sophia's heart twisted on her chest.
