Sophia's POV
To say that today was a packed and busy day would be an understatement. After I thanked Tony for my new present like a thousand times and we took it on a test ride, (yes, I suspended my morning run for this), the three of them took me for lunch and after that, I was told by Tony to come home, get ready in a nice outfit and go out shopping with Pepper, so at night we could have a nice dinner.
When he asked me a few days ago if I wanted a party or something, I told him I didn't. He insisted everyday and I would say no.
Now, don't get me wrong, I loved the thought and to be honest a little part of me enjoyed the attention (This is what I turn into after spending my whole life with Tony as my brother), but I didn't feel like a party would be a great idea, and less when my father was not near.
After all the events from Obadiah and me dying, I went to see him. He was okay when I arrived, but a couple of days later, he got sick. After a few tests and exams, the doctor told me he had COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), and it was affecting his lungs faster than we thought.
Although, he also told us that by the age my father was, he was surprised that it was just starting and that it was not weakening him as fast as it normally did.
My father is 82 (I know, I know, he is a little old to be my dad, but he had me when he was 60 and my mum 50. Also the reason I was the "Miracle Princess Baby".) and to be honest he has always been a really healthy man. He always goes out for walks, doesn't smoke (only in celebrations and a cigar only), he barely drinks, and he eats somewhat healthy.
Point is, one day we were having dinner, and all of a sudden he started coughing. At first we thought he was choking on something he ate, but then he, between ragged breaths, told us he couldn't breathe. We rushed him to the hospital and after various procedures, they told us about his newfound disease.
I'm not going to lie, I am scared. At the moment I am looking through dresses and outfits for tonight's dinner with Pepper, and she seems so excited that I don't want to ruin her mood, but my mind is wandering somewhere else. My dad, specifically.
The doctor that day took me outside of my father's room, where he was in his bed laughing with Laurie and Juliette.
*FLASHBACK*
-Mademoiselle Dumont, puis-je vous parler une seconde? (Miss Dumont, can I speak with you for a second?).- The doctor asked me and I nodded, standing from my chair beside my father's bed. Juliette smiled at me and nodded in my direction, letting me know they will stay with my father.
-Uh, oui, oui. (Uh, yes, yes.).- I said as I started to walk behind the doctor.
I followed the doctor outside the room and we walked a few steps farther from the room. He turned to look at me and threw me a sideways smile. He was a handsome doctor, to be honest. He was tall, his hair was light brown, almost blonde. His eyes were a piercing blue that reminded you of the sky on a clear day. He had a light stubble adorning his jaw and a charming smile that would make every girl blush.
Including me.
-Uh, I will say this in english, so I don't throw you off a little.- He said as he let out a low chuckle. Oh god, his voice was deep. Not like Michaels, but close.
Why am I comparing it to Michael? I thought to myself.
-Oh, it's okay, I still know french perfectly, don't worry about it.- I answered the doctor as I gave him a small smile, which he returned. He then turned serious again.
