June 2008. 11:30. Malibu, Los Angeles. CA.
Tony's POV
I was working on some stuff from the suit when I turned to look at the clock.
11:30
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and looked at my phone. No texts, no calls. Nothing. It was not like Star to be late and not call. She always called. I was starting to get worried.
-Hey, Jarvis.- I called my assistant.
-Yes, sir?.- He answered me and I walked around the shop.
-Can you check Star's last connection and location please? She's late and as you know, it's not like her to be like this.- I said to my A.I, as I pushed my hair back.
-Of course, sir.- Jarvis answered and I waited.
After what happened last night, I was more edgy and more worried. Not about me, but her. I knew she could handle herself but still, I was worried and I wanted to protect her.
-Sir, her last location was at her apartment in Downtown and her last connection was yesterday when she was still here.- Jarvis said and I closed my eyes.
-Thanks J. I'll be out, if anyone asks, you don't know where I am.- I said as I walked out the door.
I crashed with Happy and he looked at me as I walked out the door.
-Where are we going, boss?.- He asked me and I pondered whether he should come with me or not. If Star was in danger maybe it was a good idea he did.
-We're going to Star's. She's not answering and she has been MIA since last night. And it's not like her. We're going to make sure she is alright. But if we're doing this, you need to drive fast.- I said as I hopped on the passenger's seat and Happy on the driver's.
He drove fast, like hell fast to Downtown. We arrived at Star's building and went inside. I took out the keys out of my jacket and with Happy on my tail, we made our way to the elevator. I pushed the button several times and waited for it to go up. It took years to go and I was getting desperate.
-Boss, it's going up.- Happy said, stopping me from pushing the button anymore.
-Yeah, yeah it is.- I said, tapping my foot against the floor.
When the elevator finally opened its doors we both stomped outside and went to Sophie's door. Before barging in, I rang the doorbell. We waited for Sophie to open.
After a couple of seconds, the door didn't open. Happy tried again and again.
Recurring to the final measure, I took the key and opened it slowly.

My heart dropped to the floor and I felt like it was going to go into cardiac arrest. Worry and fear crept in me and I was sure I was going to panic at any moment. Well, no. I was already panicking.
Her apartment was upside down. Well, not literally, but everything was thrashed. Broken glass and vases filled the floor in small fragments, pictures and boxes in the living room, painting off the walls, and the kitchen was destroyed. Everything was a mess and I have never felt more scared in my whole life.
It looked like a hurricane had come here and destroyed everything it could find. My heart was racing and I was starting to get nervous. The worst scenarios started to play in my head and I had to shake it so they could go away.
