23rd December 2010, 13:29. The Hamptons, East End Long Island, NY.

Third Person POV.

Tony walked up the stairs to Sophia's room, his head still not comprehending the events of just two days ago.

After the mission and the incident, Nick called Tony and told him about what had happened. He asked the Stark man to come to New York to their Hospital base. When Tony asked why, Nick told him Sophia had a breakdown and collapsed. They had taken her in an emergency jet to New York's hospital so they could tend to her there.

Without question, Tony took his jet and in less than three hours the man was arriving at the hospital to be at his sister's side when she woke up.

But she didn't.

She woke up almost 24 hours later, with a pounding head, dry mouth, painful body, a brain full of shattering memories and a broken heart. Her mind, full of the images from the previous day.

At the sight of her brother beside her, grabbing her hand, she broke down again in his arms. He jumped on the bed next to her and held her close to his chest, not wanting to let go. And not planning to.

After what seemed like hours, Sophia stopped crying. She fell asleep in her brother's embrace and he was thankful she was resting again.

He knew that it was a bad sign that she wanted to sleep that much, but he thought that at the moment, it was the best thing she could do, at least until the shock wore off.

When she woke up again today, Tony asked for her to be discharged and asked to take her home with him. The doctors agreed, as long as they checked in every couple hours. Now, they were at the Stark-Dumont's vacation house in the Hamptons. Away from everything and everyone.

As Tony went up to his sister's room, he hoped that she was willing to talk to him a little more than the day before. She had been receiving phone calls and texts from everyone all day long. Or at least everyone that knew about what had happened.

Tony made sure the incident never reached the papers, mostly because he wanted to keep as much privacy with Sophia's situation as he could.

Sophia hadn't spoken to anyone since what happened, just Tony. And the things she said were the same, that Michael was gone, that he was dead and that she felt like dying too.

Her heart was broken, shattered into a million pieces. It was the fourth time she lost someone that meant the world for her. Tony's parents, then her mum, her dad, René (it was like he was dead for her, even though he was alive or so they believed) and now her fiance was gone as well. What frightened her brother the most is that she's had her heart broken so many times and has gone through so much shit in her life but she's managed to pull through, but now, he was not sure she was going to hold on that much.

He knew she was strong and that she was capable of getting through this, but he also knew she is human, she has a heart and she has feelings.

This was the first time in her life that Sophia had found love, true love, and for it to be taken away from her hands in just a snap, was just the cruellest and most evil play destiny and life could've given her. Everything she ever wished for in her life, all the plans she had of having a family, despite what her job implied and all of that, she had the dream of building that life with Michael.

That family board she had in her room when she was little, what she wanted in her life, that projection was close, she had it almost at hands reach, but death came in the picture and took it all away.

Tony's heart ached for his sister, in every way. He was scared, because he had no idea how Sophia was going to move on, how she was going to act, what she was going to do or what she was going to do with the people who took her boyfriend away.
