Tony made his way upstairs after receiving a call from Sophia, telling him she had arrived safely at her destination.
It has been a really hectic and emotional day for him. He had to say goodbye to his little sister for God knows how long, he had flown back to L.A to tend some stuff with Pepper and he also got to work on more things, like suits, armour, a few weapons and a little something for someone.
As he stood inside his room, Jarvis welcomed him home.
-Welcome back, sir.- The AI said and Tony nodded with a small smile.
-Hey, J. Got any news for me?.- Tiny said as he unzipped his watch, laying it on the table.
-A letter and a package were left for you today, actually.- Jarvis said and Tony furrowed his eyebrows.
-From who?.- Tony asked curiously as he noticed the package sitting on his bed and a letter on top of it.
-From your sister, Miss Sophie.- Jarvis said and Tony darted towards the bed without hesitation.
He took the package and shook it in his ear, trying to guess what was inside. Tony ripped open the lid and took out the bubble wrapping. At the bottom of the box sat a smaller velvet box.
He took it out and opened it, the package revealing a pair of square-shaped glasses with a tinted blue-purple-ish glass. It had a black thick frame and the bridge of the nose part was silver.
Tony smiled as he took the glasses in his hands and then tried them on. They fitted perfectly. As he turned back to the box, he saw the small envelope sitting in the bed. Laying the box down, he took the piece of paper and ripped it off.
Unfolding the letter, the familiar smell of vanilla bean and jasmine scent filled his nostrils and smiled. Sophia's perfume was in the letter. But he was sure she didn't spray it, it was just the fact that everything she had, had her scent.
-Should I be worried this is some sort of goodbye/last letter from her?.- Tony asked Jarvis with hesitation in his voice.
-You'll never know if you don't open it, sir.- Jarvis said and Tony nodded.
-Yeah, you're right. Well, there goes nothing.- Tony said as he took a deep breath and sat down, mentallyy preparing myself for the emotional journey this letter was going to give me.
Tony,
By the time you're reading this, I'll already be long gone to someplace in the world, a place you have no knowledge about. Unless of course, you decide to track me down, which by the way, would be a ridiculous idea and not very clever.
Looking back to the day I told you I was leaving, I think of how rushed and hasty my decision was. Going into this plan was probably not my smartest idea, but it was something I wanted to do, something I had to do. After I made my decision, I thought of the millionth ways I could've told you, but none of them seemed enough, or as calming as I wanted them to be, because I didn't want you to worry about me, but then, you came through the door and all of those thoughts and ideas went down the drain.
Rationalising stuff was something I was taught to do, but then again, it seems like all sorts of knowledge and logic vanished from my brain.
I wanted to write this letter because I wanted to let you know, that I'll be okay; the plan is going to go just as I told you so and the clues you get, you'll find them in the stuff I'm going to send you periodically and as frequent as I can; I wanted to write this letter because I wanted to tell you not to worry about me, even though I should know it's kind of impossible to ask you something like that.
