"Here they are!" Ruthira turned her head to see where Yeshna was pointing. The guys were grinning widely and waving their hands to the girls. Yeshna and Ruthira looked around and were impressed with the decorations made.

A big white cloth was placed on the sand, on top of which a rectangular wood plank was placed. Two bottles of white wine and some fruits were on it.

Four blue cushions were on the cloth. There were four sticks at each corner of the cloth from which fairy lights were hung forming a square. There were also a couple of tea lights on the plank.

"Welcome ladies", Abhi and Rudra shouted excitedly as they stood up taking the food packets from the girls. "Thank you", they replied hugging their respective partners. The four of them sat down while the guys placed the packets on the plank.

"Even though it's man made, beach at night hits different", Ruthira muttered looking hypnotised by the surrounding. All nodded with Abhi saying, "yeah".

"Anyways welcome to the committed gang", Abhi said, pouring the wine in the glass. Ruthira smiled shyly looking down and Rudra let out a little chuckle. Both of them thanked him.

After taking a glass each they tossed. "To Rudroneel and Aaruthira", Yeshna shouted as they tapped each other's glass together. "And also to Abhijeet and Yeshna's wedding", Ruthira and Rudra shouted together. After tossing, they took a sip of their wine.

"We bought lots of food, come let's eat", Ruthira said, opening the pizza boxes. "It's on Aaru by the way", Yeshna said, taking a slice of the pizza. "Oh Neel bought the drinks", Abhi added. "So today's treat is on us. Now, no more grudges", Rudra said.

One hour later

"No Ma... I'll be late... maybe I'll just stay over here... yeah they are fine with it... okay bye...", Ruthira ended her call with her mother. "Who was it"?

"Amma. She asked what time I'll be home. I told her I was helping Yeshna with her wedding plans, that's why she asked me to stay over at her house", Ruthira explained.

"Wow Aaru, what a plan", Yeshna said clapping her hands. "There's still lots of fries, isn't it", Rudra asked out of the blue. "How about we eat it with this", he continued, taking out a bottle of Vodka.

"Are you trying to get us arrested? First Wine now Vodka", Yeshna spoke. "Tsk don't care, no one will know it's only 8.30. Plus, let's have some fun yaar", Abhi said.

"I also got coke to mix with it", Rudra said, excitedly. "Rudra, don't you think it's dangerous", Ruthira who was silent the whole time, spoke. "Bachaa, if you feel uncomfortable it's fine. Yeshna and Abhi will drink, I will not", Rudra consoled a nervous Ruthira.

"No, it's fine let's drink. But not to the extent of losing our senses", Ruthira said, opening the vodka bottle. After having a few sips of the drink she stood up. "I'm going to walk, anyone coming", she asked, signalling Rudra to follow her.

"I'll also come", Rudra followed her. He held her hand and walked. After they were away from Abhi and Yeshna, he asked. "Why the sudden walk"?

"To have some 'us' time and also to give them some privacy", Ruthira mumbled while rolling her leggings up to her knees and moved towards the water.

She turned back and saw Rudra looking at her. She gestured him to join her which he complied too. "Do you know the tides are stronger at night", Rudra asked. Ruthira nodded kicking the water lightly. "So why are we here now then"?

Ruthira smiled at him and took some water in her palms. "For this", she said, throwing the water on him. His breath was stuck in his throat when he saw something approaching him fast. However, by the time he realised it was just water, it was too late as his upper body was wet.

He wiped his face with his palm hearing Ruthira's peals of laughter. He kept a straight face making her laugh even more. Soon his lips started curving up into a smirk which made her laughter to be silenced.

"Wha- what"? Rudra kept smirking as she turned to leave the water. Nonetheless, it was useless. Rudra caught her dupatta which was pinned on her left shoulder.

Ruthira's breath hitched as she arched her back. Rudra single-handedly pulled her dupatta which made her move back to him. Once she was infront of him, he took out the pin that was holding the dupatta. "We will need this later", Rudra explained to a confused Ruthira while throwing her dupatta to the dry sand area.

He wrapped his hands around her waist and brought her closer. He lifted her and Ruthira knew what he was going to do. "No- no don't-". 'Splash'!

Her words went dead when she was thrown into the water. After about 5 seconds, she came out of the water gasping deeply. Rudra's chortles annoyed the shivering figure. She stood up to attack him back but failed when a huge wave caused her to slip.

Rudra on the other hand, though stumbled a little, he was able to have a firm grip by his feet. He extended his hand into the water to pull Ruthira out, only to find her missing.

He moved his hands around him under the water in trepidation. "RUTHIRA", he shouted, trashing his hands around him in desperation to find her. Cold sweats broke out when she was not anywhere. He gripped his hair with both his palms and gritted his teeth.

Before he could do anything, a weight pushed him into the water.

Rudra was pulled up above the water, by his collar. He heard the same familiar laugh. "Oh god! You should have seen your face", the voice told. Rudra's eyes snapped open.

He tried to say something but could not. The only way he could express his emotions was through his tears. His deep stare with red swollen eyes displaying tears falling out made Ruthira's facial expression change.

"Rudra, why are you crying? What happened"? Ruthira was only answered by a tight hug from Rudra. "Why- why would you do that"? She knew what he was talking about but kept silent. "For a moment I- I lost you. My heart started- started beating so- so fa- fast, it's still. I'm so- so frightened.

I didn't know what- what to do. What if I really- really lost you? It's all my- my fault, I shouldn't have thr- thrown you in". His voice broke as he spoke each word digging his head into Ruthira's neck.

"Hey, hey look at me, nothing happened", Ruthira said in an authoritative tone knowing she had to take control of the situation.

She cradled Rudra's face, "I'm fine, Rudra. I'm sorry I wanted to jump on you but lost my way while going to your back". Rudra let out a small prayer before smiling at Ruthira.

She dragged him towards a less deep area and pushed him down. She sat on his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck while his were around her waist. The water level was at their stomach.

"Do you know swimming", Rudra asked to which she nodded, "doggy style only though". Rudra glared at her, "you don't know swimming and yet you decided to do some stunts on the beach at night". She sheepishly smiled when he scolded her.

"How about I teach you swimming"? "No objections but I will pay you", she said. "I don't need you to pay. Don't talk like this anymore", Rudra said slightly pissed. "Oh hello, who said it was money"?

He looked up in confusion and tried to talk but went quiet and closed his eyes when a lip descended upon his. He was still in his shocked state thinking about what just happened when she bit his lower lip.

He hissed in pain letting her enter his mouth. Rudra who finally came to his senses, let her dominate the kiss. Her hands tugged his hair while he squeezed her ass. After a few minutes, she broke the kiss. She placed her forehead against his and whispered,

"This is how I intend to pay, love".
