'Knock Knock'!

"Rudra, open the door", Ruthira whined as she blocked the sun shining on her face with her forearm. Snuggling into her chest, Rudra continued snoring.

'Knock Knock'!

"Ughhh! Waking a kid is better than waking this idiot up", she groaned while trying to push him away. "Move", she used all her strength to push him.

"Don't push, Ruthira", Rudra mumbled, turning to his left. The audacity, she thought as she walked out of the room. Lazily throwing the dangling saree over her shoulder, she opened the main door.

"Ye-", her words stopped on seeing the person infront. "Aap yaaha", Manoj, the security guard asked, moving his gaze up and down her body.
(You are here)

Noticing his gaze on her uncovered waist, she pulled out the pallu from shoulder making it fall. She pulled the saree up near her chest as she answered, "kya chaiye".
(What do you want)

"You both got married"? Ruthira was pissed at that man for first disturbing her sleep, secondly his perverted gaze and now beating around the bush instead of telling the actual reason why he was there.

"Can you just come to the point", she rolled her eyes. "Arrey ha, this is Neel's parcel, he forgot to collect it again", Manoj stretched his hand out, with the package.

"Put it there", Ruthira pointed to the shoe cabinet outside the house. Nodding, he placed the package there and walked towards the lift.

"Asshole! Did he think I'm dumb to let him touch my hand again", she mumbled to herself as she snatched the package from the cabinet and went in, closing the door.

Throwing the package on the armchair, she sat on the couch. On hearing footsteps, she looked up to see a sleepy Rudra walking out. "Why are you sitting here"?

"How old are you, Rudra", Ruthira asked, leaning back and crossing her arms. "36 ma'am, any problem", he chuckled thinking it was funny. "36, and yet you don't know how to collect your own things every time ", she pointed to the package.

"My pen set is here", he gasped happily, running towards it. "Seriously Rudra, go and collect your package yourself from now on". "Okay meri Ma, I'm sorry", he said before opening his pen cap. Shaking her head, Ruthira walked to the bathroom to shower.
(My mother)

=====

"How much do you have left in your account", Ruthira asked, writing something on her iPad. "I think after all the expenses about, 1.5 lakh", Rudra peeped into the iPad. "Hmm, my salary just got credited so I have about 95000 now".

"So here's the plan, we will open a joint account, where we will put the money going to the house expenses. That way we will use that to pay the bills. Since both of us are contributing, I'll put in about 50000 each month, what about you"?
