One week later
"Yes Mr Raichand, I have submitted the project results to the office. I'll see you next week. Bye", Rudroneel spoke over the phone.
The past week had been a sleepless one for him. He didn't know why but he had downloaded the 'Every24 News' app. He made sure to watch the news every night but only to skip to Aaruthira's portions.
He was back home from college and was going to enter the house, only to hear a rather familiar voice
Rudroneel's POV
I knew who it was just by looking at her back. Ruthira.
"Neel come, Yeshna's friend has come", Ma called out to me. Just as she turned, it felt like the surroundings blurred.
There, she stood, in a sky blue kurta with white patiala pants and dupatta.
She smiled as she stretched her right hand out. "Hi. Aaruthira, you can call me Aaru", she said. I shook her hand with mine. Her palm was small compared to mine but her fingers were long. She must have moisturised it well because it was smooth like butter. "Rudroneel".
I stared deep into her eyes and I could see her doing the same. She had dark skin that made her glow under the lighting. There was a mole above her right eyebrow and another faint one near her left eye. She also had a gold nose ring on the right side of her nose.
I noticed that her right eye was slightly smaller and darker than the left. Heterochromia. It was only visible if one looked at it for a long time. In whole, she was an Apsaras.
"Come people, let's have dinner", Yeshna shouted, causing us to break our eye lock.
Wait a minute, did she not recognise me?

Author's POV
It was Rudroneel's turn to do the dishes today. Thus, he was drying the wet plates with a towel.
"Hey, I hope I'm not disturbing you", Aaruthira asked, joining him. "Hey, of course not. Do you need anything", he replied.
"No, I just didn't feel right to not do anything and stay in the house. So I thought I could be a helping hand", she shrugged.
Rudroneel smiled as he shook his head, indicating she doesn't need to do anything. However, Aaruthira took the dried plates and put them on the shelves.
He couldn't handle the awkward silence anymore and asked, "do you not remember me"? Aaruthira looked at him and smirked.
"Well, do you think I wouldn't know my best friend's brother? Come on, I've had many sleepovers here and I even call your parents Ma and Pa. So obviously, I would know you. The other time I knew you were Yeshu's brother but I couldn't control myself and bursted out. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been so rude", said Aaruthira
"Hey, no hard feelings. I'm the one who has to apologise. It has been bothering me for almost two weeks. I'm sorry", he replied
"No problem. I'll be mad if some stranger does that to my car as well. So be rest assured, I wouldn't do that again", she smiled.
"But you are no stranger" he immediately replied. Aaruthira snapped her head towards him.
"I- I mean y- you are Yeshu's best friend which means family and the car is Yeshu's as well. So feel free to lean against her car" he chuckled nervously.
She stared at him for awhile before erupting out into a laughter. "Jokes apart. Let's put this incident in the past and start fresh". "Yes, sure", he smiled.
======
Everyone was sitting down in the living room watching the TV while Yeshna screamed as she saw something. "RAT"!
"AAAAAAA", all the three ladies started screaming.
The rat ran over Aaruthira's leg, causing her to jump and bump into the person behind. "Shhh, it's gone it's gone", Shaswat spoke while turning around. He immediately cleared his throat after seeing the scene. Maitra and Yeshna also turned to see what was happening.
Aaruthira was on Rudroneel's lap with her hands around his neck while his was around her back.
Aaruthira looked around and stood up, only to fall back into his lap. Rudroneel's hands automatically found its way to her waist. They both noticed that their chains were tangled.
Aaruthira looked into his eyes before trying to untangle the chain. "Wait", he said as he caught her hands. "I'll do it", he mumbled. The both of them were in their world, forgetting their surrounding.
Shaswat cleared his throat once again. "Erm, I'm going to sleep. Goodnight", he said. "Wait, I'm coming", Maitra replied.
Where as Yeshna on the other hand, was taking pictures and enjoying the live view.
Aaruthira shivered and gasped softly whenever Rudroneel's finger touched her neck. She thought he wouldn't hear her, however, she was wrong. Her every gasp was stirring something inside him. "Done", he whispered in her ears.
She stood up and ran towards Yeshna's room the next second. Yeshna stood there with her arms crossed, smirking at her brother. She giggled,
