"Rudra, can we get the butterscotch and cookies&cream", Ruthira asked, pointing to the ice cream section. "No, it's alot of sugar", he mumbled while reading the ingredients of a chip packet.

Ruthira clicked her tongue and went to the section. Taking both her desired flavour, she dropped it in the cart. "Ruthira, I said no", he sternly said as he kept back the ice cream.

"I won't eat food if you don't buy me those. I wouldn't be asking you if I hadn't left my phone at home", she crossed her hands. "Don't eat then. More for me" Rudra said uninterestedly.

"You know that I'll faint if I don't eat", she whined, gaining attention from a few people. "Ruthira behave! I'm not going to get ice creams. You should have thought about this before finishing 2 tubs by yourself yesterday".

Rudra glared at her before walking to the self checkout kiosk. "You are so mean. You don't care about me anymore. I'm going to complain about you to my dad", Ruthira mumbled, wiping her tears that were about to roll out.

Since Rudra was infront of her, he couldn't see what she was doing. "Go. At the end of the day, he's going to support me", he chuckled. Furious, Ruthira stormed out of the supermarket.

After paying, Rudra turned, only to realise she was missing. Quickly rushing out with the bags, he saw her walking in another direction. Realising where she was going, he shook his head and went home.

=====

"Open the door"! Ruthira knocked the wooden door harshly. When she received no answer, she kicked the door and sat against the wall beside it.

Wiping the tears that were flowing, she hugged her knees to herself. "Asshole", she mumbled, hiding her face inbetween her legs. "Can't even buy his wife an ice cream".

"Aaru"? Someone touched her shoulder. "Amma, please open the door", Ruthira whispered without looking up. "What's wrong? Why are you here", Brinda questioned as she opened the gate and door.

As soon as Ruthira heard it being opened, she rushed in without replying Brinda. "I'm going to sleep. Please tell everyone to not disturb me", saying so, she slammed open her room door and leapt on the bed.

Brinda placed her bag on the couch and walked to Ruthira's room. "What's the matter, ma"? "Nothing. I just want to sleep". "Why here"?

"Isn't this my house as well? Or did it change after I got married", Ruthira sat up on the bed. "The both of you fought", Brinda raised an eyebrow.

Ruthira broke down, covering her face. "Tsk, what is it da. Tell me", Brinda quickly embraced her daughter. "I wanted ice cream and he didn't get me".

Brinda pulled out from the hug and gave her a are you serious look. "For this you came all the way here"? Ruthira nodded, laying on her mother's lap.
