Rudra's grip tightened upon hearing his name. "He was a transfer student. He was charming and acquired quite a number of girls' attention.
We ended up being in the same class where he saw me for the first time. We were doing a pair assignment and he was randomly chosen to be my partner.
Initially he didn't say anything but the next day onwards he sat beside me. Everyone was surprised. Why would such a handsome guy sit beside me?
Soon, he started being close to me. He'll carry my things without me asking, he'll wrap his arms around my shoulder, he'll call me with endearments. I was smitten, of course. I had never expected those and when I finally got it, I was on cloud nine.
Few weeks later, he asked me to be his girlfriend. I told him I needed time and consulted my so call friends who pressured me that I should agree. Which I did and I was happy that I was treated the same way as my friends. No one was making fun of me.

"What are you doing", Ruthira shrieked and moved back. "A kiss! It's normal", he justified. "No, I'm not ready for it", she looked at the ground. "Okay, we'll work this out. You love me, everyone knows that".
"I don't love you Avyan-". Thud! Avyan slapped her. Ruthira shivered and froze on her spot. "Oh my god! Oh my god, I'm so sorry, baby. I didn't mean it. I'm sorry! I'm sorry, please don't make me angry. We are still together, okay", Avyan held Ruthira's arm tightly.
She was frightened and had no choice but to agree. "Good", he hugged her.

"So I should stay even if he abuses me", Ruthira's voice was low. "Of course, he just slapped you not a big deal. He apologised, so just forget it. What if he gets angry and tell your parents".
Ruthira snapped her head up at the mention of her parents, "no, they can't know, they'll be disappointed". "Exactly! So just do what he says", they said. Ruthira, having no choice, agreed.
Her parents were not against the idea of love but they told her, 'no relationship until 21'. Apart from her parents, there was another person to fear from. Her brother. He was always protective of her since young. And she definitely didn't want him to know.
