Teresa's POV
"Bran! Bran! No don't close your eyes! Bran don't leave me!"
I held his hand and shouted. "Bran! Bran wake up. No!" I didn't even know where the strength to shout this much came from. Some would say it was the magic of adrenaline. I kept crying out loud tightening the hold on his arm regardless of my wound. "Don't do this! Please!" I cried with every strength in my body as I felt the same pain I had when I lost my dad.
Why did everyone I care so much about die? It didn't just make sense.Dylan finally got here and I said quickly before my brain could process the words. "Dylan! Thank goodness you're here..."
"What happened Tess?!"
"It was this guy...he...he..." I to catch my breath.
Dylan tried to check for Bran's pulse on his neck and shined a torch in his eyes. "Fuck he needs oxygen."
"He's dying Dylan...he's...he's bleeding so bad." I cried out loud wishing that he wasn't dead.
Dylan turned to take in my state and said. "You're also badly injured Tess. Just stay calm. I'll take you guys to the nearest hospital."
Then he tore his shirt and used it to wrap Bran's wound. He was so fast and skilled in what he was doing that I could see the professional in him.
Firstly, he took Bran to the back seat then carried me to the front seat. Instantly, he began to drive but my heart was still beating fast that I was scared it would rip out of my rib cage.
"Don't worry Tes. All will be fine." He still reassured me.
He was the doctor so I decided to trust him and stopped listening to those tiny voices in my head telling me that he would soon die. I turned and saw him lying lifeless on the seat.
"Don't leave me Bran." I whispered under my breath as tears flowed down my cheeks. "Please."
"Don't worry Tes. He'll be fine." Dylan tried so hard to keep me calm and also drive on a high speed to get to the hospital as fast as possible.
Maybe I should run away from this pain. Maybe I should run away from all the disaster that was going on in my life. Maybe I should just rest from all of this. I know I was being selfish cause I was going to leave the people that really cared about me but this pain was too much. The world hates me so much that it has taken everyone from me. First my dad who was shot by my psychopathic mother. Why did she have to be a psychopath though? My loving mother was taken from me and now it's Bran. I couldn't bear the pain anymore. Maybe I should just accept the rejection from this world. I needed to rest so I closed my eyes slowly just to get the peace of mind I so much desired.
SIX MONTHS LATER...
TERESA'S POV
My eyes opened to my beeping alarm and I groaned. Was it already morning? I didn't even have enough sleep. I heaved and stood up to begin my day. This time, I ensured I turned on the heater. No one's having a cold bath in this weather. I looked at the picture of Bran I always had beside my bed and gave it a peck. I missed him so damn much that it hurt.
I shoved the thought away so at least I wouldn't end up ruining my day before it fully started lol. I looked at the mirror admiring my petite body. The scars Sergio gave me where still imprinted on my skin reminding me of the terror from that day. Speaking of a member of the gang, Demorte ended up capturing El so Dylan would have the opportunity to avenge Natalie, his chosen mother.
Demorte lost a lot of men but thankfully, Alex and Kelvin survived. I knew within me that that would make Bran happy. They were his closest friends. I took off my clothes and got into the shower. Without much delay, I got out and began to get dressed.
Helen flung the door open and I rolled my eyes. "Sorry I didn't know you would be uhh...naked."
"Just get what you want and shut the door behind you." I wasn't ready for anyone to get me annoyed this morning.
"I made breakfast so at least you guys would have something in your stomachs." She searched my drawer for my comb. Helen had been helping out a lot since mom got sentenced for life imprisonment. I hope she finally got what she desired for ruining our home. I attended her trial in court but said nothing. I just had tears in my eyes as I watched them take her away for life. That was so much to bear but it was for the best
Oh well, back to Helen. She took care of Daniel most especially, helped with cooking, groceries cleaning and even driving Dan to school. I wish I wasn't so rude to her at the hospital cause she wasn't so bad at all. I mean, she was the one who introduced mom and I to those jobs.
"Thanks. I'll meet you downstairs." I said as she left the room. I looked at the side of the room where my dirty clothes were piled up then, chuckled lightly as I remembered the laundry at Bran's house. I missed every bit of his touch, smell, his sexy lips that I always lingered for. Gosh I missed him.
Then, I remembered Diane which made me laugh hysterically. Words reached me that Edwin had filed a divorce against her. Maybe he finally learnt the truth that she had been sleeping with his bestie and that Dylan was his son. He also cut all business ties with Farassis' hotel. It was a whole lot but I understood he was hurt. I had this feeling that he would seek revenge one way or the other. Oh well, he served well as the Mayor.
Apart from the fact that he made the standard of living suitable for everyone, he reduced the crime rate and also had a deal with Demorte that he will provide him with all the necessary supplies if they would promise to lay low.I got distracted by the siren of a police vehicle and I remembered Cop Martial and the fact that he remained clueless in all of this. I'll give him some credit cause he later figured out that the necklace which kelvin stole from him belonged to Bran. There wasn't much he could do to Kelvin cause he had protection from both Demorte and Edwin. This two were becoming too close weirdly. So, Martial supported and even funded some groups that were against Edwin. Of course, those groups wanted the other party to win. Sometimes, he organized little protests to destroy Edwin's name which was super odd but nobody cared. Not even Edwin.
I finished dressing up and rushed downstairs to eat. I was actually so hungry. Helen was still cooking something that I didn't care to know. "How's the doctor?" She asked.
She always liked to pair us up since she noticed that we had a connection in the hospital. I cleared my throat. "You can always call Dylan and ask that question yourself. He's nice. He'll reply you."
She chuckled and I thought of him. Dylan finished his residency program and flew back to where he came from with Miranda. I heard they got engaged and will come back to the city to get married. I was still waiting for an official invitation though lol. He always checked up on me to ensure I was doing well since I was passing through a whole lot. Oh well.
Daniel got to the table in sadness and began to eat.
"Why the long face?" I asked in concern.
He rolled his eyes. "He hasn't visited in two days."
"He's a busy person, Dan."
"Whatever." He said with apathy and I chuckled then the we heard a knock on the door. "He's here!" Quickly, he ran to the door and opened it with a big smile. I saw him standing there with his hand in his left pocket looking as handsome as ever. I grinned. "Hey Kelvin."
