"Hello..." I said waiting for a reply from the other end of the phone. There were so many people walking around, entering buses of their choice. The place was a bit rowdy.
"Teresa." My mom called out and I could tell that she was busy as the sound of clashing pans in the background played a weird music in my head. Guessed she was also working in the kitchen like me.
"I'm done with work...should I be on my way?"
"Oh yeahh...I'll text you the location....Bye sweetie." She said instantly and ended the call. Damn she was actually busy.
Oh well, the sky was already getting darker but, I had to wait patiently in the cold. I was standing in a bus station recalling everything that happened earlier today. A little smile crossed my face cause I loved every moment we had together on that cliff and inside the water.
Guess my head's gotten clearer and I could think straight. Thing was, I wasn't sure if I should drop the whole vengeance thing. Don't get me wrong, I still had that adrenaline rush in my veins to kill the murderer but I had mixed feelings cause mum's totally not in support. I was confused. Damn confused.
Speak of the angel because, her text came in.....
*farassis hotel*
I busted into laughter when I saw the text and wondered...maybe I was going to meet my friend Dylan once again. Been a while.
Quickly, I began to walk so, I could get into the bus going to that direction. I couldn't wait for another one cause I mean, I've been standing there for a while.
Still walking, an old woman stood in my way. Her hair was scattered and her teeth were so brown that it was disturbing. I tried to ignore her since she was hindering me but, she held me back. My eyes looked at where she was holding my hand and I tried to be patient cause I was very uncomfortable at that moment.
"Sorry ma'am but, I have to get into that bus before it gets filled up." I looked at how people were rushing into the bus and it just made me more annoyed that this old lady was holding me back.
She said nothing but moved her hands like she was trying to tell me something but with signs. Wait. She's dumb.
"I'm sorry but I don't understand sign language. I think you should meet someone else. I hope that person would understand. Aii, I have to go."
She didn't move out of my way. She stood there still moving her hands so I thought, maybe she's hungry. I took out money from my bag and handed it to her. "This is little but, I don't have much."
She pushed my hand away in annoyance and I frowned. What the hell was wrong with this old lady? I shook my head and resolved within me to leave her standing there then, she brought out a small knife from her dirty brown jacket and my eyes widened.
The hell.
She was trying to hide the knife under her filthy clothes so no one except me would see. I stepped back and she tightened her grip on me. "Do you want to die?" She asked and I was shocked that she wasn't dumb. Wow!
What the actual hell?
What did she want from me? No! I shouldn't be thinking about that. She can stab me anytime from now so, I screamed. "Ah!!!" I screamed so loud that everyone got alerted. Quickly, some men that had noticed the knife and the weird way she was holding my hand, dragged her away from me and I ran quickly into the bus.
Whatever I just experienced was frightening and weird. My heart was beating fast as I tried to calm down. Few people apologized on behalf of the old lady but that wasn't my concern. Hmm.
My mind kept thinking of what happened in the bus station as I got out of the bus. Was she sent to kill me? El and Demorte didn't know me but, I shouldn't underestimate how connected these men were.
I kept thinking as I kept walking to where I didn't even know. My mind was running through a lot. Should I call Cop Martial. I needed immunity cause it felt like I was in danger.
Wait.
If she was sent to kill me she would have done that instantly but she hesitated. She didn't want money so what did she want? Did she want to tell me something? What did she want to say if she actually wanted to tell me something? I should've let her speak but what if she stabbed me? It was too much to think of...
"Teresa!" Mom screamed out and I got out of my thoughts. So many people were moving in and out of the reception of the hotel. When did I get inside hotel. Crazy. I was really lost in thoughts.
"Yeah." I said as mom walked up to me with a smile. "Teresa...I know you think I'm still mad at you but, I'm not. Instead, I'm glad you made it through your first day at work without going to the station."
I frowned. "How did you know that?"
"I called Martial." She chuckled. "That's not the exciting part....why didn't you tell me Doctor Dylan is the son of the...."
"You should have told her." He said and gave me a hug from behind. That lavender scent filled my nostrils and I grinned. I turned so we could face ourselves. We hugged but this time, tighter. It had been a while since I met him.
"Dylan."
"I missed you." He said into my hair.
"Aww." Mum said in a really cute way.
