Brandon's POV
".....Demorte has told me that we should get more supplies from another city. He doesn't trust those guys anymore cause he thinks El has something planned with them....." Alex kept talking from those pale lips of his but, I couldn't even concentrate.
I had two things on my mind.
One, the fact that what he was saying wasn't really relevant. He was filling me in on some information due to my absence caused by the election.
Two, Teresa....
My eyes wouldn't stop drifting to the table where she was sitting alone. I noticed her eyes watching others eat. Damn. She told me she was hungry earlier and I was making her wait cause of the irrelevant things Alex was telling me.
Fixing my eyes on Alex who was laughing at whatever he said, I thought for a moment and took my eyes back to her. She looked so innocent as she waited there with her beautiful brown eyes. Those eyes always got me. Her hair was packed into a bun but it was quite scattered because of the work she had been through.
Okay fuck it.
"....so he decided to get the bag...."
"Yo..Alex...We'll discus this later."
"Man... I'm not done."
"Another time man." I said and began to race to the table where she was. I just couldn't watch her sitting on that table hungry and alone for another minute. I needed to get her something quickly. I placed my hand on her shoulder and said. "You look famished."
She rolled her eyes. "Dang...I am. I was considering leaving or doing something else."
"I'm sorry...he was saying things about Demorte." I was truly sorry.
Her weakened eyes brightened as I signaled to one of the waiters to get us two plates of sushi. "He's part of your gang?"
She always got excited whenever anything concerning Demorte or El popped up. I hope she wasn't planning on doing something stupid cause, the last time I could remember she almost got jailed.
I heaved. "Yeah. We're three friends but he's closer to me though." I wanted to stop talking but I was sure that she'd ask questions. "Why?"
Touché.
Ugh Teresa.
Bringing this story up was going to make the atmosphere intense cause, there was a sensitive reason to why Kelvin wasn't really close to Alex.
She had an innocent face on but I knew within me that she wasn't. She was a silent volcano ready to erupt which made her even more sexy. The plates of sushi were placed right in front of us and she began to eat. That brought a smile to my face. Why did I care so much about her being hungry? 'I'm just being nice...but that's not me.' I told myself."Because of what he did." Didn't want to spill yet.
She pressed on. "What did he do?"
Okay, she won. "You know he's way older than Kelvin and I."
She nodded. "Yeah."
"Actually, Kelvin introduced me to this gang and I was welcomed with warm arms since my dad's a politician. I met Alex who was a chilled guy but, kelvin didn't really like his vibe. I once asked why and he told me..." I paused still thinking if I should say this or not. Then, she looked into my eyes and all I could see was a lady who was eager to hear the next word.
I continued just because of her. "He told me that he didn't trust someone who had ever worked for our rival, El."
"Wait, Demorte let him into his gang despite he once worked for El?"
"It's complicated. Demorte sent him as a spy actually."
"Oh."
"Yeah, that was why El ensured that Alex must be present that night."
She wondered. "What night?"
"You're so inquisitive aren't you?" I said with a smirk and she rolled her eyes. "Tell me."
My face got more serious as I said slowly. "The night Demorte's daughter was raped and killed."
She froze for a while which was expected and asked. "Wait, this is kinda ringing a bell. Is there a particular number of times she was shot?"
How did she know this story already? She was right and I responded. "Ten."
Then she sat up in shock. "Wait." She laughed like she didn't believe what I had said.
I frowned. "Ugh...what's wrong?"
Her breathing quickened and she became furious all of a sudden. "Why did El do that? Why did he kill Dylan's mother? Why does he think he can get whoever he wants dead?! What sort of a man is that?!"
How did she know that Natalie is Dylan's mother? Damn. There's a lot more to this pretty woman.
