Brandon's POV
She smiled. "Your mom was just being paranoid that she felt like I wasn't doing my job well."
Something was very fishy. I could tell.
I said. "You do your job all the time and sometimes, you stay for extra hours because you want to get that ticket."
"That's the point! I work really hard so when she wanted to kick me out, it was really devastating. Thank you Bran. You really saved my ass back there."
There was something that she wasn't telling me and I could sense it. My mom knew how hardworking she was so it wasn't because of that.
Damn.
She wouldn't tell me. I could see it in her pretty eyes as I stood over her who was pinned to the wall. I had this urge to get hold of her lips and kiss them passionately.
"Thank you.." she kept on. "I don't know what I'd have done. Gone back to my mom and told her that I got sacked? Embarrassing. That would've been very disappointing and pathetic."
Don't worry Teresa. I wouldn't have let that happen. I know how important this job is to you and I'll ensure you have it till whenever you get tired. My subconscious said.
"You're not losing this job even if you decide not to work for a month."
She chuckled lightly. "That'd be unfair to those that actually work."
"Yeah..it would but I don't care."
We both laughed till her face became a bit sober. I frowned and asked. "What's wrong Teresa?"
"It's been months and I haven't found my dad's murderer talk more of having revenge."
What?!
She's still having this crazy idea after everything that has happened to her. She fucking went to prison just because of this and she still wanted to go ahead with this. I began to chuckle cause, this lady wouldn't cease to amaze me and that was the reason why I was so attracted to her. Her fierceness and guild. Those things were fucking attractive.
"You're still on this?" I said in between chuckles.
"Stop it....ain't funny." She pouted and I tried my best to resist the temptation of kissing her. I took in a deep breath.
"Look, I thought this was a forgotten thing."
"No! I can never let this go. I must make the murderer pay!"
I could feel her body radiate with anger and pain then I knew that things were getting serious.
"Even if that's the last thing I'll do, I'll ensure that all the people involved in his murder will go to the mud!" The pain in her voice was obvious.
She stared hard at the floor with clenched fists. "I am ready to kill anyone who would think of coming in my way."I heaved and looked at the beautiful petite girl. I don't know but I always wanted to make her happy. Anything that would please her, I was ready to do it and I didn't understand why.
Since it was very important to her then, I was ready to assist her with the connections I had with Demorte. I was going to help her take out that murderer since that would give her utmost satisfaction.
I wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do because, it was something that would endanger her life but, I knew within me that I'd protect her.
Yes!
I would help her find the murderer and I'll protect her with all that I've got. I looked into her eyes and asked. "Do you know how to use a gun?"
She looked at me with hope in her eyes. "You want to help me?"
"Yes."
Immediately, she wrapped her hands around my shoulder and hugged me. I could tell that she was on her toes cause of the height difference. My hands went down to her lower waist trying my possible best not to touch her ass...again. "Thank you Bran." She said as she let go of the hug and I stared into her eyes.
I ducked my head closer to her face and noticed that her eyes were already closed in anticipation for a kiss. Damn. I badly wanted to know what her lips would taste like. I noticed a strand of hair on her cheek and I pushed it away gently. Caressing her cheek softly with my index.
Then, I leaned in further to finally satisfy my desires but I was interrupted by pacing footsteps and we both checked to see Dylan walking away with in disgust. I bet he had seen everything that had happened and that put a smirk on my face.
Make that little star shimmer guys. Love ya!
