Hey guys! I'm really sorry for delaying this chapter. Actually, I've been really busy but I'll ensure that I get better at my updating game lol. So, y'all should seat back and enjoyyyyy.

I watched in silence as the doctor was fumbling the words of "We tried our best but it's a head injury so chances of survival are..."

I didn't need to wait for him to finish cause I already knew what he would say.

Before the surgery, my family was contacted so mom was standing beside me also listening to what the doctor was saying but with clenched fists. She was really angry about the whole thing and how it ensued.

Like it happened so fast. You get me?

I understood her pain. It was just this morning that we all ate on the same table acting like any normal family and suddenly, the man she's been married to for years was just reported shot dead. How's that even logical? I could imagine the trauma she was going through.

I guess that's life as people would say.

When the doctor finished saying words that had no meaning to me cause I wasn't listening, I wrapped my arms around her and she began to cry out loud in my arms.

I just shook my head as the tears dropped like rain from the cloud. Then, the reality hit me hard and I started crying out loud. I couldn't even breathe again. I just lost my dad, my hero. I couldn't even comprehend what just happened.
Why did he have to leave so early? A man who was struggling to fend for himself and his family just got shot out of the blues. Why him? Why?

I couldn't even talk to anyone cause my mom was also crying. I needed comforting. Shit.

She kept saying that she'd have gone too but she couldn't leave Daniel and I in this world without any protection. Her words hurt me so much as I realized that, she was the one who would carry all this burden by herself.

No! No! I had to fight.

I had to do something.

I had to support my mom and find that person responsible for my dad's demise cause how dare that bastard? He had the nerve to kill my dad! Sorry, but he messed with the wrong family!

Then, I opened my mouth to talk. "Mom..."
She kept sobbing as some people also came to console us.

"I promise..."I tasted my salty tears and continued "...that you won't suffer. Daniel won't suffer and that bastard..." Tears began to pour out like a stream from my eyes as I wanted to speak. "that heartless motherfucker that decided to kill my father..." The tears stopped me halfway and my voice cracked. I took some time to get myself back. "will die a painful death. That's my promise to you."

All of a sudden, my mum began to vibrate and I got scared instantly. People began to scream and before I even knew it, I was seperated from her by some nurses. I got confused as I watched them take her away from me.

Wait.

Is this day cursed or something?

I sat on a seat and listened to some people telling me to calm down and assuring me that everything will be fine.
"Don't worry, it'll be fine." A woman said

"Believe her cause that's the same mindset I have. My son is undergoing surgery right now and I have that mindset that all will be well." An older woman added.

"Oh, I hope he has a successful surgery. My husband just went in to see the doctor." A younger lady said and a man replied.
"Mine is my daughter. I hope she comes out healthier."

The first lady who spoke then replied. "You really have no problem if only you believe."

"Oh preach Monalisa." The older woman said.

Trust me, on another day I would have actually laughed but not this day. Everyone was on pressure and all had our ways to tackle it.

Mine was just being silent, distracting myself with what these strangers were saying. Like, I just watched my dad just die and now, my mom just goes haywire and starts vibrating like a vibrator and that was scary as fuck.

What was going on please? In one day?

I really needed some saving at that moment so, I bowed my head and whispered a prayer to God. That was the only thing I could do.
