Teresa's Pov
It was a silent drive and I kind of liked it that way. I mean, we're strangers. I preferred to go home first before going to the hospital so I could maybe cook something for my brother who's in the hospital with mom. Mom will always be like 'The hospital's fed me already and whatever so getting fruits for her wasn't a bad idea.
To my favour, the clothes were actually my size and so comfortable. I had already folded the clothes and jewelries Dylan gave me so I would return them. Then, I remembered my phone which I hadn't checked since I woke up.
"Damn, my mom called me five times." My eyes widened.
"So?" He answered.
I rolled my eyes realizing that I spoke out loud. "I don't want to get her worried. C'mon she has high blood pressure."
"Relax...she thinks you're with him."
I shook my head. "No...she always senses when I'm in trouble. Normally, she wouldn't call if she knows I'm with that bloody doctor."
Bran let out a laugh and I rolled my eyes again. "Nothing's funny."
"I'm sorry." He kept on laughing and I just decided to ignore him. Speaking of the doctor who gave me sixty missed calls this morning. Why didn't he try last night? That effort would've been more appreciated. Whatever.
I dialled my mom and she picked almost immediately. I could tell that she knew something was wrong with me.
"Tes..." She sounded like she was scared which proved me right for the second time.
"Mom...are you scared?" I asked slowly and noticed that Bran also got on a call.
"No...no I'm not." She lied. "I just didn't want to interrupt anything between you and the doctor."
No mom! He left me all alone where there were men with guns and a fucking bullet bruised my skin but in everything, I replied with a chuckle.
"I spoke to Doctor Dylan earlier and he said you both are doing well and y'all will soon be here."
What a big fat lie. I honestly didn't want to trouble my mom about anything due to her health so I had to agree with Dylan. "Did you miss me that much?"
She giggled. "You're my daughter for crying out loud."
I laughed hard. My mom was one of a kind. "I miss you too mom. Don't worry I'll soon be there."
"Yay. So, how did your dinner go?"
I laughed in my heart as I remembered everything that happened in that dinner. Wow! "It was one hell of a dinner mom."
"Oouuu I'd really love to know the deets."
"Mind your business."
We both laughed together but, I couldn't tell her anything cause I didn't want to subject her into something that'd get her into her feelings and she'd start vibrating all over me. I would tell her maybe when everything is over and we're one big happy family.
We spoke for a while till I realized that Bran wasn't driving in the right route anymore. "Alright mom...I'll talk to you later."
"Bye darling." I could hear the joy in her voice.
"Bye." I cut the call and looked at him in confusion. "Bran...where're we going?"
"Just want to speak with an old friend...nothing much." He said casually.
I needed to get to my mom early before she'd call again. "Woah. Can't you talk to this 'old friend' later? I need to get to my mom as fast as possible."
He replied. "It won't take so much time. Trust me."
He pulled over in the middle of the woods and I frowned in confusion. What are we doing here? "Stay here. I'll be back." He then handcuffed me to the inner door handle of his car. Uhh? What was he thinking?
"Hey, are you crazy? What's the meaning of this?"
"I can't trust that you'd wait here."
"What? Have you lost your mind..."
"I'll be back in a minute young lady." He got out of the car and walked into the woods. Shit! That bastard!
