"Teresa?" She was in awe.

I shook my head in disappointment. "There's no need to come here and fake any form of sympathy. If you don't care, then do it without guilt."

"I'm...I'm..." she was trying to formulate rubbish in that her small head.

"My mom's been here for days Helen...days! And today's the only time you chose to come so we'll acknowledge that you're what? A good friend? You can't fool me not even in your dreams. Thanks for getting us those jobs but, just know that you're nothing to this family. Nothing. So, drop the act." I walked away to catch up with others.

"I'm sorry Mrs Helen. Teresa's just been a bit off since dad died so, don't take things too personal." I overheard Dan saying to her and I turned.

"Dan? Come walk with me." I reached out for his hand and he held mine as we walked away.

I don't care if I was mean but I'm tired of fake people prying into my family's business. Another fake person was that bastard, Mr Charlie. I had already planned to pay him a visit after ensuring mom had settled down at home. He had some explaining to do because, what the fuck?

I got closer to mom and she said. "You won't tell me but, I know you're having problems with that doctor."

We all got into the elevator and I knew what she was talking about.

I laughed out. "Why did you say so?"

"Cause, you guys didn't get back to my ward together and none of you mentioned anything about the dinner."

That was true cause Bran dropped me home and I went to the hospital all by myself. I didn't even see Dylan that day until after two days when I went to his office to return the beautiful gown.

"Don't worry mom. We're on good terms."

"Then, what about the dinner? Come on Teresa." Seeing mum beg was so cute. The doors of the elevator opened and we got out.

"Mom, I'll tell you everything about it. Chill out."

Then, my eyes fell on Dylan who was talking to a nurse. In some seconds, he turned like he knew I was staring and walked towards me. "Mrs Riley, I couldn't even extend my goodbyes."

My mum smiled. "Oh it's nothing. I was also hoping to see you."

"Follow everything the nurse said. We can't emphasize the effects of..."

"Doctor Dylan, I've heard. Gosh. Y'all should give me a break." Mom said.

He laughed. "Sure, sure." He looked at me and I noticed mom winking at me. I shook my head. "Dan...follow mom..."

"Don't worry, I don't want to interrupt anything either." He said in an unbothered way and left.

"You know you shouldn't have." I said referring to the drugs and blood pressure monitor.

"The money she had wasn't enough so, I had to do something about it."

I really thought the money dad left would be enough for her hospital bills but clearly it wasn't. We needed those jobs for real and if Helen was saying the truth, we'd raise enough money to fend for ourselves.

I smiled. "Thank you...really...thanks."

"And you still refused the dress...."

"I've made my mind up, Dylan."

"Okay....okay." He held my hand and placed his thumb on my wrist and I looked at him in surprise. "What are you..."

""Your pulse is okay this time." He said then I remembered the first day I met him.

"Well, your clothes are already dried."

What? I just apologized.

"Sorry, but did you hear everything I just said?"

He smiled. "I did." He held my hand and I stepped back in awe. Uh what's going on?

Then he said. "You're actually going through a lot cause your pulse is really fast. You're....furious. You have to calm down at this rate."

I smiled at the thought and he gave me a peck on my cheek. My smile got wider and I said. "Goodbye Doctor." I turned my back putting my hands in the back pockets of my jeans and began to walk away.

I turned and noticed that he was still staring at me. I've had memories with this handsome doctor just to admit. "Hey stop staring at my ass!" I shouted to him and he shouted back. "I hope that ass doesn't get into trouble."

I hoped so too.
