I stared at the door wondering exactly what I'd do next. If I let him in, I'll satisfy my cravings but I just didn't want...
He knocked again. "Young lady?"
Young lady? Oh that's true, I never told him my name. I cleared my throat. "Yeah?"
"The new sponge is just packaged perfectly on the sink...thought it'd be helpful and uhhh...decided to leave the room so you can be very comfortable."
Teresa what was your dirty mind up to lol. "Aii." He Just wanted to tell me something but my filthy mind had already gone far. Well, don't judge me.
Quickly, I had my bath so, I could at least call my mom before she gets worried about me and call the whole world.
I got a white towel, wrapped it around myself and opened the door. I smiled as my eyes fell on the clothes which I already ordered on the white sofa. I really hoped that they were going to fit since I wasn't really sure of what size I wear. Legit, I couldn't wait to have them on.
Dylan's Pov
"No, no, no. What have I done? The first thing I thought of when I woke up this morning was her. I couldn't get my mind off the fact that I didn't know where the hell she was. I've given her like fifty missed calls but no response at all! What if she got kidnapped cause certainly, only four men were found dead in the scene according to the news. Damn it! I continued dialing her line.
Shit! Shit! Shit! I messed up real bad but could I say it was my fault? I was very vulnerable at that moment and the only thing Baldwin could do for me was to take me out of that place so I would stop having those terrible flashbacks.
No! Shit! No! It was still my fault.
I endangered her life by inviting her to the dinner. I messed up and it's all on me. Anything that happens to her is all on me...
Baldwin badged in with two of his favorite guards. "Dylan, she's not with her family. My men checked the hospital, the matrimonial home, where her mom works...the station...nothing."
I placed my hands on my waist out of frustration. "Did you guys search well?!"
"Yes. Every corner you can think of and she's not also in the company. Someone must have helped her." Baldwin said out loud.
I had to wrap my mind around everything that occured in between those hours. I was messed up!
"Shouldn't we just involve the cops before it's too late?" Baldwin asked.
"No!" I screamed. "If we get them involved, it'd raise too many alarms and..."
"Her family would know that you lost her."
I looked away. That was exactly the reason why I didn't want the cops involved. We could still find her on our own. I mean I'm no detective but I know she's a survivor. She's fine wherever she is. I assured myself. It's just to find her and that's all. Problem solved.
"If I'm right that you're thinking about leaving the job to us then you're wrong. What if she's kidnapped? What if something bad happened to her? You have to tell them...including her mom. Her mom deserves to know that her child's in danger. Yeah you'll lose her trust but what for?"
Someone needs to shut that short man up. He says the truth without even concealing anything. Even though, I couldn't bring myself to tell her mom. It wasn't that easy.
"Dylan you're an educated doctor...you know the right thing to do..."
Baldwin was interrupted by my phone's ringing and I rushed to it like a lion about to pounce on its prey. Lord knows I prayed it was Teresa but it wasn't. It was her mom for crying out loud. Shit. I didn't know what to do.
"It's her mom, right?" Baldwin asked and continued. "You know the..."
"Baldwin just get the fuck out of here! I'll take care of this." Okay, that was too harsh. Baldwin looked down in sadness and I heaved. "Look, I'm sorry but I'll handle this. Wait for me outside."
Without hesitation, he left my room and the other men followed. I took in a very deep breath and picked the call.
"Hey, Mrs Riley Houston." Seen her hospital card so I definitely know her full name.
"Hello, Doctor. Oh, I'm sorry. I hope I'm not interrupting anything between you two."
Woah, this woman surprises me. If only Tes was actually in my bed. I chuckled lightly. "Not at all ma'am..." Maybe, she's heard the news but she doesn't know what dinner we went for.
"Good Lord. I've been calling her but she's not picking up. I just wondered if she didn't want me to interrupt anything between you two."
She's not picking her mom's calls too. Now shit! She should be in some kind of mess right now. I laughed. "She's here with me...but in the shower. Don't worry ma'am...I'm bringing her to the hospital soon or enough."
She chuckled. "Alright Doctor. We miss her already. Oops don't tell her I called if not she'd be mad I checked on her and be like she's not a baby...but she's my baby." We both chuckled lightly.
"I won't tell her a single thing. Alright bye ma'am."
"Bye."
I ended the call and let out a heavy breath. That didn't go bad but I had to involve the police. I don't think Tes is safe anymore.
