Brandon's Pov

I'd been avoiding Demorte for days but I couldn't keep up with that forever. I knew he was angry because of the mistake I made. Well, I couldn't regret anymore but just accept my fate since the deed had already been done.

Damn. I can't keep running away. My legs kept walking towards our secret hideout in the woods to meet him. Bringing her along was very dangerous for both her and I because if anyone figured that I brought a stranger here...it's a death sentence. So, I had to handcuff her and pray within me that no one would see her. Risky? I know.

Talking about the young lady, she wouldn't even say her name. Not to lie but she was fucking beautiful and sexy. I couldn't even keep my hands to myself after she pleaded with me not to cross boundaries while zipping her dress.

Oh well, I had to focus on the problem I had and stop fantasizing over someone I may not see again.

Approaching the garage, the smell of cigarettes, liquor and burnt tyres welcomed me. I saw Kelvin with a bunch of men smoking at a corner. There were too many people which was understandable since Demorte's around. My only fear was that no one out of these people would find the lady in my car.

"Where's Demorte?" I asked them even though I knew he'd be inside the garage.

"In my ass." They began to laugh and I snapped "Shut up."

I walked inside and didn't have to search before I saw him sitting on his special leather chair. His black  permed hair was packed to the back. He had a cigarette in between his fingers. He never smiles but always have a strict face on. But immediately he laid his eyes on me, he frowned so hard that it got scary. Wow. Somebody save me.

"Leave!" His said aggressively and everyone hurried out of the garage.

"Are you a fucking moron, Brandon?!" He shouted and I rolled my eyes. I could feel the heat of his anger from where I was standing. "I sent Charlie to do a job and you decide to do it in his place!"

"He wanted to welcome his mom from the airport..."I made the biggest mistake by replying cause before I could finish my statement, he pointed his gun to my head and shouted. "No! It wasn't your responsibility! Don't bring up any pathetic bullshit story of a mother and son reunion!"

From that moment, I chose not to speak until I was told to.

"Charlie would get his punishment later. Second offence...you were avoiding me like a rat but still needed my help when they came for you! How dare you?!"

I said nothing.

"Now that you didn't kill that bastard's daughter, it's just a big loss! That's fucking one to El and zero to us! Now they're attacking us and fighting to take all the supplies! Just see what you've caused!" His Spanish accent couldn't even be ignored.

Still said nothing.

"Why aren't you saying anything?!" He asked in annoyance.

Okay, it's time to talk. "I thought being silent was the best..." He frowned harder. Then I decided to say something else. "Actually, I take the blame for everything I've caused. It's a slap on your face that I didn't kill her..."

"Exactly... not killing her is the biggest offense. It wouldn't have happened if Charlie who is more skilled than you..."

"No argument here." I said.

"Kelvin have started one of his punishment." He said after a short silence.

"What's the punishment?" I hope he'd answer me and to my greatest surprise, he did. "From now on, he'd join Alex in the front lines to collect our supplies."

That was an easy punishment like, he just had to be getting the guns, bullets, hard drugs and any thing needed for the gang. Obviously, he wouldn't be the only one doing that cause there'd be other members of the gang with him for protection.

"Charlie!" Demorte shouted and in five seconds he joined us.

He crossed his arms and bent his head without saying anything to me. Wait! Was he pissed that I didn't do the job rightly? Wasn't he the one who came begging me to help him so Demorte won't get disappointed?

"Charlie?" Demorte pointed the gun to him and I froze for a moment. Was he gonna kill him?

"Yeah." Charlie replied shakily.

"Since I sent you on an errand and you decided to do what pleases you..." He paused for a moment and continued. "Your punishment is to meet El in Eastern Block and tell him that this is just the beginning of war."

Charlie fell on his knees. "Sir...this is a death sentence. You're telling me to go to the enemy's camp to deliver this message. Before I finish making a sentence he would have already put a bullet in my skull."

Damn! Demorte though.

"Don't worry...you're going with Kelvin and five other men. They'll try their best to protect you."

Charlie stood up and thanked Demorte for not letting him go alone after which Demorte dismissed him. He looked at me for a while and said. "Thank you, brother."

I looked away and then back at this my friend turned brother. He was the one that helped my life by introducing me to Demorte and the gang. I came closer to him and gave him a short hug and said. "I'm sorry."

"No...no I'm sorry. I shouldn't have put you in this mess from the start. I should've dealt with my business on my own but you tried your best."

I nodded and he left. Then, I stared at Demorte awaiting my own punishment. Since, I wasn't going to the lion's den or front lines, I wondered what mine would be.

He put his gun down and cleared his throat. "Brandon..." He paused and said to me. "Your punishment would be done by just you. No help at all."

Okay, that's scary. Now I was really thirsty to know this punishment.

"You have one week to kill Jennifer Casirk. I don't care how you do it but if you haven't killed that girl in a week...then, I'll kill you myself regardless of our friendship or your father's status!"

Shit!
