Yep, you're definitely right. It was the guy who I just screamed at for showering me minutes ago. I looked away in embarrassment for shouting at a complete stranger who wanted to just apologize for his mistake.
No. Why was I feeling this way? Damn you conscience! The other doctor smiled at my mum. "How are you feeling ma'am?"
She grinned. "I'm with my family so I'm the happiest person."
He nodded. "I see.""I haven't seen this new doctor." She said and the nurse chuckled.
"Oh he's my junior colleague... a resident doctor that recently got employed. He's one of the best doctors from Westbrond's hospital though. We're lucky to have him."I rolled my eyes. A doctor who can't ride a bike appropriately. Bleh.
"Oh, that's really nice. Nice to meet you doctor." Wow, mum was going to befriend everyone in this hospital before she gets discharged.
I decided to steal a gaze at him and our eyes met instantly. He was staring at me the whole time or what? He kept looking then smiled turning to my mom.
"Nice to meet you too ma'am. Your bp is quite high. I guess you should ensure that you have more understanding and less easily agitated people around you."Oh wow. That was my sub.
"Everyone's loud. Especially at work."
"Exactly...they're everywhere...even by the roadside." He smirked and I frowned.
"God save us." My mom laughed and Daniel joined her. That little brat. He understood everything that was going on.
"By the way, I'm Doctor Dylan."
"Nice name...I'm Mrs Houston."
After a few chats and checks on my mom, they left the ward. I couldn't believe that doctor could be so petty and I was just silent all through. Actually, I was silent cause of guilt.
Whatever. Who cares anyway? I have to be in the station this evening to further investigate my dad's death. Those cops wouldn't want to give me all the information I wanted cause it's not my job but, if I had to take things into my hands, I definitely would.
I was ready to go that far.
Suddenly, I became so desperate that the blood in my vessels began to flow faster. I needed to be in that station immediately and get more information.
"I'll be back mom." I stood up and she asked.
"Leaving so early?"
"I'll be back. Just need to take care of some things."
"Tessie...is it about your dad's...."
She was going to stop me so I interrupted her. "Don't worry mom. I'll be back very soon." I walked out of the ward quickly before she could say anything more. No one was going to discourage me. I couldn't be at peace till I accomplished what I had in mind. I kept walking then I heard a deep masculine voice resonate into my ears. "Excuse me..."
I turned to see the handsome doctor I had harrased outside. He came closer and said.
"From afar, you looked very furious...like you are about to do something...disastrous. I hope it's not about the whole...you know, stuff that happened outside?"Okay, this was the right time to apologize.
"Actually, I'm sorry. I...I...I was just too stressed and...angry with everything going on in my life right now that I wasn't even thinking. I just lashed out on you. Look, if I was rude in any way, I'm sorry." He kept staring at me with those brown eyes of his like, he didn't understand everything I just uttered.
"Well, your clothes are already dried."
What? I just apologized.
"Sorry, but did you hear everything I just said?"
He smiled. "I did." He held my hand and placed his thumb on my wrist and I stepped back in awe. Uh what's going on?
Then he said. "You're actually going through a lot cause your pulse is really fast. You have to calm down at this rate."
He was right but I had something to do.
"And about the apology, it's fine. I'm Dylan."
Who takes ten years to acknowledge an apology?
"I'm Teresa. Thanks for everything but I have something to catch up with."
"Sure. Just chill out." He said and walked away. Truth is, he was the first stranger to actually show kindness to me during this difficult period and I appreciated it. Yeah, he's a doctor and trained for things like this since everyone's health is his priority but, I actually appreciated this.
"Thank you!" I shouted so he could hear me and he turned and gave me a smile which warmed my heart that I had to return it. Woah, this strange doctor just calmed me down. "Dylan." I said under my breath.
