I could help him since Jennifer was in the same damn hospital with mom. I had even gotten her ward number. That was the only way he could easily kill her. She didn't have hundred guards protecting her cause the hospital wouldn't accept that. I took in a deep breath. Should I help him or not? Would he still trust me at all?

Or would he think I'm a spy?

"And he fucking gave me a deadline! Just a week! How can I perfectly come up with a plan to kill her cause I can't make a mistake this time? How can I know her every movement and figure out the right time to kill her plus everyone's gonna be overprotective of her since she was mistakenly shot..."

I stopped listening to him and thought for a moment. This man saved my life when I was stuck in the bathroom with those bloodthirsty killers. It wasn't Dylan, who invited me to the dinner, but this man.

Also, he took care of my wound, fed and got me clothes. I don't care whatever he thinks about me when I tell him about Jennifer but I had to help him too. You know, return the favor.

"Look." My voice cracked with fear as I interrupted him. His eyes met mine and I heaved. Should I say it?

"Yeah?" He asked softly and waited for me to say what I had in mind.

"Look, somehow I know all the people you've been telling me about."

He got confused. "How's that possible?"

"Uhm, I'm having this investigation on Demorte and El for uhm...some reason." I sounded suspicious. Fuck.

He said nothing so, I continued. "Well, I know the girl you were talking about is Jennifer Casirk and Demorte is your boss and El is his...enemy...I know more than what you think. I'm not a spy or a cop but...someone killed my dad...and I'm suspecting either of them...look that's not the point why I'm saying all these."

"Go on." He said. I was surprised that he didn't have his hands on my carotid arteries trying to kill me at the moment.

"Jennifer is in the same hospital with my mom..."

He sat up. "What hospital?"

"Laken General Hospital. I think they took her there cause it's a lowkey in this city. People hardly notice the hospital so she's kind of safe there."

"Are you sure about this?"

"Yes. Look, I know what I'm saying. The hospital just allows one guard to stay in her ward so as to not scare the other patients or something. The other guards are outside the hospital."

His eyes drifted to the grass. "She's vulnerable there."

"Exactly! So, you can easily do what you want to do without getting caught. Don't forget the hospital's got cameras."

I added. "Just know that I'm not a spy or anything but I just felt like I should help you with the little I know since you've also...you know...helped me."

He looked back at me. "What's her ward number?"

"126 A. The first floor."

"How many guards are outside?"

"Uhh... like four."

He moved so close to me that we were sharing the same breath. "No matter whoever has helped you in any way...you don't go around telling people delicate information like this. You can get killed. These people are dangerous and you don't just trust people like that cause what you just pulled off..."

"I just wanted to return the favor."

"I know and I'm fucking grateful cause you just provided a solution for me but you're so lucky that it's me and not any other drug lord's boy that you're telling this to ."

He was right. Shit! That was the dumbest thing I've ever done. "You're with them so why won't you kill me at the spot? Come on, I know too much already and I've exposed myself to you."

"No, you don't know much. Not even the basics but still you have to be careful since you're investigating."

I was silent.

"Look, in three days time, I'll come to the hospital to confirm everything you've told me and maybe also kill her."

I nodded. "But, why does Demorte want her dead so badly?"

"Cause, El killed his own daughter."

"What?" My eyes widened and he said. "Don't worry...there's more to everything...I'd advise that you stop looking into those men cause they're too dangerous and you can get yourself killed."

I heaved. I wish I could listen to everyone telling me to stop but I couldn't. I really wanted to go through any length to kill whoever murdered my dad.

"Ohh well...I'm Teresa Houston." Changing the topic. "A normal boring black girl." I said.

"A boring girl? What boring girl would sit in a car and sing out loud with no music and tears flowing from her eyes."

I rolled my eyes. "Look that never happened, okay? Forget about it."

He chuckled. "Bruno Mars? Never knew you were a big fan."

"Shut up." I stood up. "I was having an emotional moment back there."

"Yeah, I know. Bruno would be very proud." He said and stood up. I said in between giggles. "I'm not doing this."

"Come on...let's get you home." He said and gave me a hand so I could also be on my feet. I nodded. "Finally!"

He moved closer to me, wrapped his hands around my waist and dragged me in for a hug. "Thank you."

"It's nothing. You also helped me when my date was no where to be found."

He let go of me and said. "Your date is an asshole."

"A big one." I added as we walked to the car.

"Bruno's biggest fan."

I rolled my eyes.

We got into the car and I couldn't wait to meet my mom and brother. They must have really missed me.
